This is a beautiful Irish cable-knit shawl sweater! It is 100% merino wool and of authentic Irish construction and origin as described. Wool is warm, thick, and soft, and lays very nicely on the body, and the material has a slight sheen to it in the Army green color. The cable knit is rich and thick, and the shawl is just the right height and breadth to keep its shape and allow either a collared shirt or crew-necked shirt to be worn underneath. The faux-leather button is nice, and the knit loop fixture that keeps the shawl closed is very nice. It is fairly loose-fitting for a relaxed feel, and the ribbing at the base falls to around the middle of the buttocks and is pretty loose on an average-build guy like me. Cuffs fit fairly snugly without being either too tight or loose. This is a fantastic-looking garment for either a casual or professional look, very impressive, and accentuates my build just enough. I am very satisfied with this purchase, and would highly recommend this seller!

I have a tall boyfriend, 6'2" and weighing around 180, with a relatively wiry build and longer arms. I bought this for him, and it fits amazingly.

The sleeves are a tad shorter than expected, but all it takes is a bit of gentle tugging on the sleeves when first taken out of the bag to cover the wrists. This can be accentuated even more when you are finished handwashing the garment and simply apply a bit of pulling on the sleeves to the desired length. A slight query that can be very easily remedied, since this knitted garment is extremely versatile and durable.

Amazing quality, and the reports that it keeps you cool in the summer and warm in the winter are definitely true. A one of a kind sweater. Would buy another in a hearbeat, but I shall wait until my budget looks more generous!

To those of you that might have experienced some difficulties with the sweater: Make sure to check the sizing chart and order the size that allows for a bit of room. Odds are that this will not be your usual size. My boyfriend is typically a Medium, but we went for the Large, since European and Asian sizes always tend to lean on the smaller side (At least for the colonies in the Americas!)

I normally wear a Large/XL and had to order the XXL. It fit just about perfect. Could've been a little bigger, actually. But the wool is so soft and comfortable, not at all itchy/scratchy. My only issue was there was a hole (a defect in the knit) on the front of the sweater, so I had to return it.

I have had this sweater for about two weeks now and have worn it in a variety of weather conditions. I live in coastal Alaska and purchased this as a layering piece to go under my Filson Mackinaw Cruiser. This sweater functions very well in that capacity. It works particularly well in cold, wet weather. It is warm when going outside and does not get too hot when wearing it inside. It is great for a hike in the woods, because it heats up when you move, but breathes so you do not get hot.

I purchased the Army Green, which is beautiful. The stitching is of very high quality and the wool is wonderful. I have had a number of compliments on this sweater and would buy it again in a heartbeat. I hope to purchase one in natural sometime soon. I am 6'1 and 177Lbs and the X large fit me perfectly. As suggested by other reviewers, I would purchase a size up. This seller was very easy to work with and had my sweater to me in Alaska in about a week.

Finally I found a sweater company on amazon that has quality merchandise! This Irish wool sweater was exactly what I was looking for! Awesome Quality! I got it over-sized: I am a L to an XL, and I got XXL because I wanted it to be a big house sweater. It is big (expected), and the front hand pockets are a great addition. I like it slightly large on me. It is of good quality, thick, and feels good. I had also purchased a hoodie sweater for my girlfriend and it was also of the same good quality. I think it is worth noting that these sweaters are made in Ireland. I have bought a few clothing items off amazon that were made in China. The sweaters from China are always of poor quality, smelly, and not worth the price. These Irish sweaters are a great deal for the money. I will buy more in the future.
