    I had the same scale for years, to measure out when making soaps, dying yarn, and mailing packages, but I needed an upgrade when I gave my friend that scale for a project. I love the streamlined beauty of this 1byone digital scale. It is extremely easy to read the numbers as they are larger in size. I am able to weigh items in grams, milliliter, pounds, and ounces. The scale is accurate and lightweight, which is very handy for me as I move it from one room to a other. Just FYI, It does take two AAA batteries (which comes with the scale). While I continue to use it for packages, soaps, and yarns, I have now started using it to weigh my makeup to see much I have used during projects. Very easy to use and move between types of weight you are looking to get a reading on. Very inexpensive for a high quality product.

    There is a reason this is the number 1 selling kitchen small scale on Amazon. It works well and it's super simple to use. My wife prepares meals for our canine kids each night and she also makes their breakfast and puts it in a snap top sealed plastic container in the refrigerator for the next morning. She prepares boiled skinless and boneless cubed chicken breast and alternates between mixing it with white rice and/ or butter noodles. This scale makes weighing out the portions as easy as could be. Works great and couldn't be easier to use. Want to get 4.234 ounces of something? No problem, this scale does it with ease.

    You set the scale on a flat surface and put your container on the top of the scale and push the TARE button and it zero's the weight of the scale with the dish or container on it. When you add to the bowl it shows you the exact weight of the food itself, after all, you generally don't eat the dish but you need something to put the food into. Once you have this scale, you will be weighing everything. You will weigh the dishes, then the utensils and then stuff which has already been weighed followed by stuff that it doesn't matter what they weigh.

    It's easy to become an obsession, soon you will be weighing everything including stuff you probably shouldn't weigh. Have you ever wondered how much that fancy underwear you bought your wife or girlfriend (or both, that's up to you) weighs? Probably not, but you can soon find out. Just remember, this is used for food items so keep it clean........

    So to make this review super simple I’m gonna list what I liked followed by what I didn’t like and explain why at the end.
    Liked:
    1) Very simple to use with clearly marked butttons.
    2) Good size surface area to weigh items.
    3) Display is easy to read
    4) Slim and easily fits in cabinets and drawers.
    What I didn’t Like
    1) Didn’t care for it not having a hard cover to protect the top surface area for weighing items.
    2) Did not like the cleaning process as pressure to surface weighing area can cause damage.

    All in all this is a great buy and the price well you can’t beat that. Well worth it if your trying to take back you life and lose weight or be more healthy. Truth is nobody WANTS to weigh every thing you eat but if your trying to lose weight at least this product makes it easy to log and weigh food. Just make sure you have a place to store it where nothing will be put on top of the weigh area and when you clean it wipe super gentle and you will be fine and on your weigh to losing weight. 7lbs lost since i bought it last month

    I dislike that the instructions say it cannot be used around a microwave. What kitchen does not have a microwave? This should have been mentioned in the description of the product. I just received this, so I cannot say whether it is going to work for me. No one else mentioned the microwave situation, so maybe it will work out okay. I just thought I should give a head's up to those considering buying this. I know I wouldn't have bothered if I had known it shouldn't be around a microwave or mobile phone that is in use. I am giving it 2 stars because I don't know how it is going to work for me yet.

    Update: Well, I am changing my review to 5 stars, because this little thing works just great! It is so easy to use, and gives a definite, and I assume, an accurate measurement. My old kitchen scale would waffle between two or three numbers, so I wasn't sure if I had the exact amount I wanted or not. This gives one number, and sticks to it, unless you take away to add something. This way, I know exactly when I have what I want in the container. Also, the Tare feature is really great. It only had to be set once for a container, which you can then use to measure all of your different ingredients without having to reset the scale after each one. I am loving this, and I have had no problems with the microwave issue as yet.

    The first thing that I like about this kitchen scale is that it’s not expensive. It’s really easy to use and the button are real mechanical button. I have another scale that has tactile button and I hate that. Now I know that with this kitchens scale, every time I press the button, something will happen.

    The scale is precise and well adjusted. It displays the exact same weight as my other scale (starfrit). You can put up to 11 pounds on the scale which is enough for a kitchen scale. It doesn’t happen often that you need to weight 11 pounds of something for cooking.

    The top plate is ‘’chrome’’ plated. Humm… it’s actually just shinny plastic there is no metal there. There might be a special paint but nothing more. It’s supposed to prevent bacterial growth but just clean your scale and you should be good.

    There is one thing that bothers me a bit about this scale and it’s that it’s not instant. It takes maybe 1 sec before it displays the correct weight when you add something. It’s not a big deal but my other kitchen scale is faster than this one. Other than that the scale is really nice and at 20$ I would recommend it!

    I chose this 1 By One digital kitchen scale after reading reviews of this and several comparable products. I prefer this older-style black LED read out - it is definitely easier to read than the newer fluorescent type LED. This scale design with an elevated platform also makes reading the LED easier. It is also at the price point I want to pay, since the 5 Kg capacity is already more than I need on a regular, day-to-day basis. On the very rare occasions that I need to weigh anything heavier I can always use my bathroom scale (stand on it first, then weigh again with product in hand). I have already tried with several items and the scale weighs correct in my opinion. Tare function works and easy to use. I also like that the readout stays on so I can add to without it auto-shut off on me. Very pleased with the purchase.
