Packaging contradicts sustainability
I love the idea behind the product and the product itself, however the packaging completely contradicts the idea of sustainable living. Granted, it is recyclable. But each tooth brush is individually boxed, then divided into boxes of 4, then put in a larger box. We received 11 boxes for 8 toothbrushes. I’d be over the moon if we could just receive them all in one of the medium sized boxes. Anybody that’s making the effort to live sustainably probably wouldn’t care about brand new toothbrush heads touching... we don’t even use bags for our produce most of the time, we just wash it at home. So just a pointer to the company— it’s really really really stupid, useless and contradictory to be packaging each and every individual toothbrush. You’re contradicting the entire minimal/sustainable lifestyle that these are made for. LESS. PACKAGING. Even if it’s recyclable! Because THAT would mean you are using less trees for recourses, you are using less fuels and power to create the cardboard and boxes, and you’d be SPENDING LESS. You’d actually be working towards a sustainable earth instead of adding to additional creation of unnecessary waste.

Here is my honest review!
Well, for starters, the bristles are very soft and not as close together as a regular plastic toothbrush. Which in part is good because I have extremely sensitive gums. Overall, the bristles seem to get the job done by providing a through clean feeling. Even when it comes to cleaning the tongue. The pack came with 8 brushes total, all charcoal infused. I’m still unsure of the charcoal purpose. To my understanding, it’s cleaning agents and properties have been a myth so far. Anyway, back to the packaging, it is made with 100% recycled paper and cardboard material which gives you a guilt and waste free sense of fulfillment. However if you’re choosing this item due to its environmental impact and soft footprint on the earth, maybe don’t order online. Transport and delivery of such item to a residential area maximizes the carbon footprint.
Back to the item itself, the handle is made 100% of wood. I’m not sure what time of wood this is, certainly doesn’t feel Like bamboo. The handle ire self has a rough, uncomfortable feeling that I’m sure will take some time to adjust to as well as the back part of the brush that goes into your mouth. Having that piece rubbing on the inside of my cheeks wasn’t a very pleasant experience.
All in all, I give this item 4 stars out of 5, I believe the wooden part could be smoothed out significantly to be made more user friendly however it does not hinder the efficiency of the product.

I started using bamboo toothbrushes about two years ago and I am a convert. I will never buy a plastic toothbrush again. I have been trying to reduce my plastic use and this seemed like a no-brainer. At first the toothbrush would leave the edges of my mouth raw, but I got used to it after a few days. I ran out of toothbrushes about a month ago and bought another brand of bamboo toothbrushes because they were cheaper. When they arrived they were smaller and didn't have the ergonomic figure eight shape that allows you to comfortably hold the toothbrush. I hated them. I ended up donating them and coming right back to these 'kooler things' toothbrushed. They just feel better in my hand. I don't mind paying a little more for the comfortable grip. When I'm done with them, I will break of the head of the toothbrush so I can recycle the handle and throw away the head with the plastic/charcoal bristles so that I produce less waste in the landfills.

There are a lot of reviews about bristles falling out or the wood splintering and hurting, BUT
I have not had any of these issues. I bought late December 2018 and it is now April 2nd. I just switched myself and the two kids (9+6) to new brushes. I felt like it was time based on how poorly my kids care for their things, and less because it was needed. They have not complained, and the brushes did not even look that bad. I use a toothpaste that really builds up on the bristles, however, these brushes were much easier to maintain in that regard and did NOT build up like my old plastic ones! (The kids had more build up but they don’t rinse the brush well. Still was not bad.)

I really fell in love with using these. They feel much better than plastic ones, and I realpy just overall prefer them at this point! The first use is a little weird, cause it is wood, but after a few uses, it improves and you don’t even notice, so give it a good try and use a few times before making a full judgement.

I still have 2 brushes left, and will definitely order more in about 3-4 months when we will be closer to switching out again.

I do wish there was an easier way to tell between the brushes than the small hard to read number. I plan on using some 100% cotton yarn and tying a bit around the handle, different colors for each of us.

Highly recommend these!

The bristles are nice and soft and they're a great price. My only real complaint is I wish they were more noticeably different. They have TINY little numbers on them which often fade away or get lost in the grain or covered in toothpaste residue. It is hard enough for me to see, let alone someone with trouble seeing. Can only imagine having to put on my glasses just to find which toothbrush was mine every time! Bigger numbers or letters or colors or some kind of different markings that are NOTICEABLE would be very much appreciated as using them for multiple people in the same bathroom gets really annoying. Other than that they work just as intended, like a toothbrush! Have lasted longer than I expected for bamboo so far too. Definitely recommend switching to a more eco friendly option like this!

I was a bit put off by some reviews of bristles falling out. But I'm an artist and am used to new brushes losing bristles. If, on the other hand, clumps of bristles fall out - that's a quality control issue and I'm sure the company will stand behind their product. I only saw ONE bristle fall out when I used them the first time. None since then.

What I really love is how easy it is to handle the brush. With all the fancy handles on the plastic brushes, they constantly still slip in my hand. Not these brushes. They stay right where I want them.

I gave my wife one of the brushes and she LOVED it. Said she was surprised at how soft the bristles were. I made the mistake of buying some "medium" brushes - not these - and they wrecked my teeth which are sensitive anyhow. Not these brushes. They are wonderfully soft yet still get my teeth clean. My wife even says she thinks they clean better than the "brand name" brushes.

Anyhow, I liked them so much, I bought five more 2 packs so I can give some to other family members.

Can't recommend these brushes highly enough. I've been pleased as punch. I think you will too!
