My nephew has taken an interest in drawing so I bought him a set of colored mechanical pencils and colored ink pens. I looked at several pencil cases to organize them and finally decided on this one in the "medium" size. It turned out to be PERFECT.
It has two zippered compartments, and each one is a little different. One side has a large mesh pocket with room for up to 10 pencils to lay side-by-side. I put in the 8 colored mechanical pencils plus a regular 0.5 and 0.7 mechanical pencil and they fit exactly. In that same compartment, on the other side, are two smaller mesh pockets. The lead refill containers for each pencil fit perfectly in those.
The other compartment has room for about 9 ink pens. I put the 8 medium point pens from the color set plus a black fine point pen in there and they fit just right. Above where the pens go is a small mesh pocket, and I put a couple boxes of refill erasers for the pencils in there. Once everything was in place, it looked like a very professional set for a budding artist, and he loved it.
That's all I had to put in the case, but it could have fit even more pencils/pens/markers loose in the compartments if needed.
The construction of the case seemed to be very good. The seams felt secure and the zippers worked smoothly. I like that it has so many color choices. I wish green had been an option since that's my nephew's favorite color, but he was happy with the blue one I chose for him. I expect he'll have this for many years since it seems like it should hold up well.
