The gimbal arrived in a foam box. There is no carry case included. It has USB charging wire you can attach to your phone charger adaptor. Ideally 2.0 A travel adaptor should charge it for approximately 2 hours. So check the amperage. Read the instruction manual very carefully regarding the charging and setup. The quality is extremely good though YouTube reviewers complain about its plastic construction and feel, I think there can't be a better plastic than this. As for the grip, it's kind of smooth at the back and matte/mildly rough at the front. A sweaty palm might have issues regarding slippage in which case you can purchase any safety rope that can be attached at the bottom of the gimbal where there is a port/screw hole for a tripod. It's sturdy. It's a smooth process of setting it up. You have to download the DJI go app which is relatively huge for an app, from the Google Play Store for Android or Apple Store for iPhone users. Setup a DJI account and register it.Before you proceed any further, you must be completely ready for the toughest part of the setting up process which is the balancing of the phone. Your phone could be light or heavy and depending on that it must be completely balanced on the gimbal which means it should stay still facing up/down and shouldn't tilt, in which case you will have to manipulate the screws or knobs at the side and back until you get the perfect balance. You can set it up in portrait or landscape orientation. The portrait mode is a little bit difficult to balance. There are numerous tutorials on YouTube regarding the balancing and most focus on the landscape orientation. The guide book or manual isn't very helpful in this regard. You will have to watch and, or download a small video which I did, from DJI website about setting up/balancing it. A properly balanced phone will consume much less battery as the motor parts won't have to work extra to forcefully balance the phone during operation. If not balanced and you continue using it, the gimbal will make a motor noise alerting you that your phone need to be balanced. It's not an alarm warning. Just a way of diagnosing improperly balanced smartphone-gimbal.Once your phone is balanced, switch on the gimbal and the motor will swing it to life and automatically adjust it at a still setting. You must not forcefully try to twist and turn the motor as it will damage it. Then turn on the app, and phone Bluetooth. The smartphone will pair with the gimbal and then you can enter the section for osmo gimbal. The app itself supports many different types of gimbals and drones that DJI manufactures. A tutorial is present which will train you how to use the gimbal. Again, YouTube has walk through guides for the tutorial itself as I found some particular tutorial task difficult to execute. The smartphone gimbal isn't a powerful device for shooting really excellent photos and videos especially. Don't expect to be become an expert in a day or week. You will need to learn for many months in case it's a first time purchase and usage. It's not a selfie stick. Remember the difference. If all you want to do is take group photos or selfies then purchase a selfie stick or a tripod for the smartphone. This gimbal belongs to an altogether different plane of videography and has some huge learning curve involved. Be ready for this. You can take very beautiful shots like hyperlapse, timelapse etc. Just place it on a tripod, adjust the timer and let it shoot, say the crowds, the moving cars and clouds etc and watch the crowd or the world around you move in high speed. Craneshots, dolly zooming, pan reverse zooming, parallax effects, 360 degree view, panorama etc are some of the features. Those take time to learn and perfect. Other options like sport or walk mode is available. Also the option of livestreaming to Facebook, YouTube, Weibo is available.Overall, I'm very satisfied with this gimbal. The gimbal perfectly stabilizes the smartohone and even if you walk on uneven roads or rocky beaches or take a video from the car, you won't find the camera swaying or shaking. That's the biggest advantage over hand held videography. The battery will comfortably lasts you a day or more of heavy use. The smartphone can be charged from the side, but I don't recommend this. It won't be possible to charge in any case if you place it in landscape orientation since the charger port which is usually located at the bottom of the phone is to be placed flushed with the rubber cushion of the gimbal. In portrait mode you might be able to charge your phone as the holder is rotated and the usb port becomes available for charging. At 480 grams, you will start feeling the weight on your wrist and forearms pretty soon which makes it difficult for long term use. Another disadvantage I found is that when you balance the phone in portrait mode, and try to shoot images or videos, with the rear camera, the back of the gimbal is often seen in the focus and is difficult to eliminate. The smartphone will take an image of the arm of the gimbal. But if you want to take selfie video for Facebook/snapchat/Instagram stories then it will do fine as the front camera will not obviously have any hindrance or obstruction. This design flaw of a part of the gimbal being in the image field of the camerawasn't taken into account by the engineers. Unless you have a smartphone which has a camera at the very top end of the phone or close to the edge then, perhaps you won't have that issue I mentioned.Overall, it's a good purchase at such an affordable price. Go for it and watch your videos come to life.

+Osmo is compact in hand can hold firmly
    +Best stability and smooth working.
+Joystick is easy pan & tilt
    +Simple design with few buttons
+Long life battery for a multi day usage

-Pan Follow mode is sadly missing and is a serious con
    - Because of only one button, all the modes expect (follw & locked), can be activatd frm the phone screen and you need to go to sub menu to get the option is really wearied
    - The DJI go app does not support all cameras if the phone have hav multiple cameras (front face camera is supported). You have to use ur stock camera app to record in all cameras and in this case record button will not work
    - Luks plasticy
    - If u have wide angle camera, the gimble is visible on one side. u have to tilt up cam and hold handle horizondaly to avoid it which leads to less tilt range

If u are a youtuber/passionate on videos/professional, then only its required for you

GImbal is not Dead on arrival : After buying one I now know you can turn the gimbal on and it will not power up the motors until you sign into the DJI GO app. So it looks like it’s dead if you just go for a third parts app, but once you create an account with DJI if your didnt have one, and you until sign into the DJI GO app it will not initialize all the way and the motors will not come on.
As for the gimbal, it’s lighter then the competitor gimbals, feels more natural to hold and not as top heavy then the smooth 4, and the tracking works 100% better then the smooth. Firmware update is done with the iOS app over Bluetooth. The zoom is smooth, but the the moving of the gimbal position with the joystick is slow. The osmo 2 has a normal USB A port for charging other devices I like the smooth 4 using a micro USB port and I can find a Micro USB to lighting cable. Charging the osmo is only 2 hours and uses a more common found micro USB and chargers at 2 amps, or 10 Watts just like the smooth 4. So the USB Smooth 4 charging has not advantage for faster charging speeds, just another cable you will have to carry. The osmo is smaller then the smooth 4. And the Osmo 2 is supported by filmic pro using the zoom button for more advanced features without the need to touch the phone and will give you 4K 24, 30, and 60 FPS, but you have to initialize the osmo first with the DJI GO app and update the firmware before using filmic pro. Now on the smooth 4 side, the Smooth has more range, seems to have stronger motors able to do faster transitions, a more refined app for iOS with 4K 24, 30, and 60 FPS. But the firmware is done over a computer. But the firmware update on the computer also allows for fine tuning calibration of then levels and the iOS app allows for the speed adjustment of how fast the motors work. If holding the gimbal upside down, or flashlight straight out then the smooth 4 wins in this range much better. The smooth 4 is not officially supported by filmic pro, but will still work you just have to tap the screen for some of the settings and adjustments. With the iPhone X and the Apple leather case the Smokth fits better without hindering the range of the motors, I had to remove the case to speed up the osmo 2 a little and for the phone to fit better. The smooth 4 seems easier and faster to adjust and control once you get used to the Phone Go mode and back triggers. In the end, they both do good stabilization, neither will let you charge the phone at the same time while using it. And both work well as a gimbal by its self. It comes down to the little features, if your a one man camera youtubenchannle then tracking is a needed thing the osmo 2 will do this better. If your looking for a mkre Manual mode without having to tap on the screen the smooth 4 is better. I think the smooth 4 works better for beingna faster and easier adjusting gimbal once you get used to the trigger controlling. So it all comes down to what your needs are. If your space is limited in your camera bag the osmo might be better and lighter also will still get the job done just with slower fine tuning using the joystick. If you want to record a one shoot video with no breaks that will need to be edited post the the smooth 4 might be better for you. Both are good gimbals for the intended purpose of a 3 axis gimbal, but both are very different in what they have to offer and how they function. All in all, a neat piece of equipment! Oh, and be sure to check online for adapters to hook popular action cams (you know which one I mean) to this so it can stabilize that footage as well (obviously no app support for that, but it’s pretty effective)
    I hope this helps.

I just got this gimbal after researching all the other models and this is the best one maybe 20-30 bucks more expensive but the app that it comes with works really good and that was one my main concerns because the other gimbals the apps that they created for them sucked and people would just use their normal camera app and that would make some of the features rendered useless. Its light weight, all the features work, really smooth video, and its 15hrs worth of battery life compared to the others which or are around 5 or more. Shipping was fast as well which was nice.

    My opinion
5.0 out of 5 stars Uno stabilizzatore eccellente, ottimo anche con iPhone XS Max
