Product Description
In 1993, Sunpentown International (SPT) was founded on the ideal of distributing well trusted appliance brands that offer innovation, value and quality.
From the manufacturer
SPT Countertop Dishwashers
Compact Design
Perfect for apartments, office kitchens or any small-sized kitchens; offers full-size power in a compact design. With a height of only 17.24", this unit will fit between most countertop and cabinetry. Spacious cavity loads up to six standard place settings.
Easy Installation with Faucet Adapter and Quick Connect
Quick connect to any kitchen faucet eliminates the need for direct plumbing or permanent installation.
Our faucet adapter fits standard-sized Aerator openings for both male and female connections. Size: Male 15/16", Female 55/64". As long as your faucet has a removable Aerator, it should be able to connect the faucet adapter.
Note: For standard faucet head with a side/detached sprayer: while attached to the faucet, some detached sprayers will experience water leakage due to line pressure. This is from the design of these faucets to redirect the water pressure from the main faucet head to the side sprayer. If you have a side sprayer, you will most likely need to install a water line that is separated from the sprayer.
Various Wash Cycles
6 wash cycles (SD-2213): Heavy, normal, light, miniparty, rinse and speed.

Details: We are able to fit full-sized dinner plates in it as the guide book that comes with it depicts in a picture. Our plates are from Wal-Mart and are cheap, so they're probably just "standard size" and wash most plates, bowls, cups, silverware on Normal cycle unless they're pretty dirty. We do try to rinse off most items that have lots of sauce or caked on grease/food because we want to limit cleaning the food trap and want the dishes clean as possible. It doesn't take much time to rinse compared to actually washing those puppies! We put pots and pans in there and wash on Heavy cycle. Pans usually need to be slanted. We put plastic and glass tupperware in there; It's done well with most tupperware, just make sure it's dishwasher safe otherwise the soap and hot water eat through the plastic and create small holes. We put a small AND LARGE FRYING PAN in there, and they come out SPARKLY CLEAN! Don't use too much soap for the liquid soap because it'll leave soap residue on some dishes and the inside of the washer door. I honestly don't use the little teacup rack it comes with and just took it out. Sometimes, I take out the silverware basket (suuuuper easy, no clips or anything) to make room for bigger items. I don't always follow the guide on "how you're supposed to fill the space" so that I can fit everything in there well, and things always come out clean. Occasionally I have had a couple of forks or butterknives and a plate in a load come out with a food spot still, but 3 out of like 20 is not bad; I just put it right back in the next load! Other reviews have talked about time of the cycles, I feel like at first the cycles were around an hour and a half, but over time they've gotten longer.... Everything still comes out great but it's kind of odd. The pegs seem to be holding up well. One peg in the "bowl spots" was kind of bent slightly when we opened it, but we were able to bend it back and nothing has broken or bent with use. The bowls don't often fit well in the small bowl spot, I find they topple over and don't stand up especially if I only wash one or two bowls at a time and don't have another item propped against it. It works with cheap liquid dishwasher soap. This hooks up very easily to our faucet that has a side sprayer. Other reviews have said the sprayer can explode but we haven't experienced this, no leaks, no pressure, nothing. It's great! Everything is easy to set up. I don't have much counter space in my apartment and it fits right next to the sink and my microwave. I didn't have a cabinet length problem, so it fits under the cabinets.
Overall great product, so so so glad I purchased, I show it off to all of my friends and they all want one now, and is definitely worth the money for the time it saves me doing the dishes!!
I moved into a small apartment after a divorce and went from a built-in soundless Bosch top of the line hooked up to a garbarge disposal so I didn't even need to rinse a dish to, yea. Just a sink. I had to hand-wash dishes. Yuck. I wasn't used to it. They piled up. It was gross. The landlord wouldn't pay to install a built-in (in hindsight why would they?). I wasn't about to pay for a plumber. So like any lazy girl who hates manual work would do, I hit the internet. Omg there's a dishwasher I can sit on my counter and hook up to my kitchen faucet??? And it's only $200 & change??? So-so reviews be damned! What have I got to lose?
Alright, I order it. It comes in. Fits under my cabinet on the counter next to the kitchen sink. All I have to do is screw an adapter into the faucet and screw hoses into the back of the dishwasher. No problem.
It works ok for a couple months. (Just for reference I bought it Feb of 2016). Ok so April / May 2016 the buttons just kinda start blinking and it shuts itself off mid-cycle. I'm like wtf? It's not great to begin with and now - nothing? Aw, Hell no.
I contact the company directly (yes I purchased it directly from the manufacturer through Amazon). The customer service was so good it surprised me. They said it was covered under warranty. At first they told me to ship it back and they'd replace it. I had thrown out the box already. So they shipped me a brand new dishwasher and told me to ship the defective one back in the box the new one came in.
So the new one was amazing! Obviously my original one had some issues... and omg the replacement one worked a million times better!
I am writing this review Feb 2018. I've been using this dishwasher every day for two years now. Not just every day - anywhere from one to three or even four times a day. I've meant to go online and praise it's virtues many, many times. But stuff comes up and I kinda forget. Tonight, I just kinda feel compelled... here's why:
1) I'm doing my taxes. I find this dishwasher receipt from 2016 in my receipt pile from last year. I smile 'cause I had just started washing a load of dishes. With a Cascade Pod. It looked delicious.
2) I remember that I wasn't too impressed at first. Then I remember that my first unit was a lemon. Then I remember that the replacement unit was pretty awesome and that the company was super cool about the whole thing and made the return / replacement pretty easy.
3) I think to myself that this dishwasher makes my every-day chores so much better. I may make it go through three or four cycles a day, but if I had to hand-wash that many dishes I would either 1. Be compelled to purchase paper or plastic plates, cups, and utensils, thereby contributing to the destruction of trees and stuff. (What am I - an animal?) OR 2. I would most likely be compelled to harm my significant-other (or myself) for leaving a sink-full of dishes to manually wash. (And have to deal with wtf ends up in the sink drain thingy?) Yea, no. I've literally physically fought people for lesser offenses.
4) Recently, this handyman guy was sent by my landlord to fix a leak in the bathroom. As he walks through the apartment he sees this beautiful white box sitting on the kitchen counter. "What IS that? Is that a dishwasher??? I'm a plumber. I've never seen anything like that. That is SO COOL!".
Yes. Yes it is. I haven't hand-washed a dish in two years. Every single dish, cup and freaking pot or pan comes out clean. Every. Single.Time. Does it fit as much as my big built-in under the counter dishwasher? Of course not.
But... this dishwasher changed my life. No longer is dishwashing a chore. This freaking thing is hooked up to my tap on my freaking counter and has worked flawlessly for two years now. If you are in an apartment or an RV or just don't have the room or want the expense of installing a built-in dishwasher... buy this. It's pretty awesome. (And if it's not awesome, maybe you got a lemon like my first one. Just contact SPT and they'll make it right).
Disclaimer: I use those pretty Cascade pods for washing dishes; I was not under the influence of any detergents while writing this review.
UPDATE: Service department sent return label free of charge and was able to fix the problem and it's been working great since repair.
Some of the reviews said it's silent. Maybe it's silent if you are in the other room or if you are blasting music? I stood next to this during its first couple washes because I was nervous I hooked something up incorrectly and if a hose popped off I wanted to be right there. (The instructions were good--it was easy--I just doubt myself with this stuff). I CERTAINLY could tell when it was on, and what type of cycle it was on, but again, I was RIGHT next to it. However, as I get used to this I could see not noticing the sound--it's not loud, but it's not silent.
Maybe my apartment doesn't have the standard cabinet heights, but I couldn't use this under my kitchen cabinet. Again, this is working ok for me and my purposes but I just wanted to note that maybe "standard" isn't always as standard as one would assume.
It was delivered quickly without issues. It looks nice despite being bigger than I had imagined (not a ding on the product, just my imagination).
DIshes came out clean as a whistle, set up was pretty simple, I'm good with the size for what it does. 10/10 I would recommend to someone in my situation.
