From the brand
-
In 1971, a mix of unemployed Boeing engineers, a leaky foam gardening pad, and the dream of better nights under the stars came together to change how we experience the outdoors forever.
By 1972, Cascade Designs was formed and began selling the Therm-a-Rest Standard 3/4 – the world’s first self-inflating sleeping pad.
The rest, as they say, is history.

BIG IDEAS. SMALL FOOTPRINT.
We are committed to providing you with the best possible solutions in outdoor comfort and keeping a vigilant eye on our environmental footprint while we do it. From smaller things, like repurposing die-cut foams to make our Compressible Pillows, to a broad, global awareness of our supply chain’s impact.
One of our longest-standing initiatives has been a commitment to making our products “In Market”. This initiative has enabled us to greatly reduce the length and complication of our supply chain, resulting in better service and a smaller global footprint.

Therm-a-Rest
Why focus on comfort? It's the simple belief that the better you rest, the better you play. It's a universal truth that is readily apparent in our daily lives, but one that is too often overlooked at play. From the essential, life-preserving warmth that we've provided to some of the world's most significant expeditions, to a simple seat that turns a rocky outcrop into the most amazing lunch stop you've ever dreamed of, the right dose of comfort makes everything better by allowing you to be at your best.

Self-InflatingThe origin point of Therm-a-Rest. We designed the first self-inflating pad and we still produce the lightest, warmest, and most compact self-inflating pads available. Expanding foam core self-inflates—top off with just a few breaths for personalized firmness. |
Diagonally Die-cut FoamsProviding the same reduced weight as our vertically cut foam, our diagonal cuts also boost warmth by minimizing airflow. |
Made in the USAMade in the USA of the finest US and global materials. |
Ultra-CompactLightweight foam boosts compressibility for easy packing. |
What is R-Value?
R-Value is a measure of thermal resistance; the higher the R-Value, the more thermally resistant the material or structure is. By selecting an appropriately insulated sleeping pad, you’ll stay warm throughout the night, and wake up prepared for the trail.

Product Description
Equally at home backpacking through the fall or car camping in the spring, the Therm-a-Rest ProLite Plus Ultralight Self-Inflating Backpacking Pad gives added warmth and comfort without sacrificing packability. The thick diagonal-cut foam offers a lightweight pad with a 3.2 R-value for comfort and warmth during three-season adventures (R-value measures the material’s ability to insulate; the higher the R-value, the warmer the sleeping pad). The 1.5-inch thick mattress expands on its own and tops off with a few breaths thanks to the self-inflating design. Available in two styles: Equipped with the Standard Valve, or equipped with the WingLock Valve which is able to inflate a pad three times faster than a standard valve thanks to a larger barrel and optional one-way inflation. Both styles of the ProLite Plus includes a stuff sack to protect the pad when it's packed down. Made in the USA. Manufacturer’s limited lifetime warranty.

There was a problem filtering reviews right now. Please try again later.
For reference, I'm about 5"4 190lbs and I did't touch the floor when I lay on the inflated pad.
Then my dog decided to wake me up. One swipe of his loving mongrel paw and the mattress was no more. And now I find myself shopping for a reliable patch kit...???
Of course I don't expect any lightweight air mattress on planet earth to withstand this form of extreme K-9 abuse. But I have to wonder why Therm-a-Rest doesn't automatically include a patch kit with the mattress... seems reasonable, right?
