I have always had some curiosity about "green" style notebooks and have tried some of the electronic versions and didn't care for them and the pens or stylus you had to use for writing on them. My goal was to find a product that would allow me to take hand written notes during a meeting and then quickly convert those notes to typed text so I could circulate among my team members. I also wanted something that was small and light that wouldn't take up much space in my briefcase or on the meeting room table. The last requirement was to cut down on the hoards of old fashion notebooks collecting dust at my office.
The solution - Rocketbook Fusion! I love this product and it meets all of my needs and wants from above. In conjunction with the notebook, the OCR function on the phone app does a pretty darn good job converting the handwriting into text. There is need for a little bit of editing in the Text file after the scan from your phone, but you have your hand written notes right there to reference in case the OCR didn't get it just right. This sames me a lot of time later on from typing the meeting notes from the computer. I snap a picture after the meeting and scan the notes and then can send to someone on my team in minutes! How efficient is that?? Then you also have the added convenience of having your notes handy any time you need them on your phone or in the cloud, no more book shelves or forgetting your old notebook for reference. I am as happy as a clam with this product and would recommend to anyone that is looking to save a tree and start benefiting from this awesome little book.
Pro's:
- Easy to use and nice to write on with the Pilot Frixion pens.
- Love the OCR feature in the phone app.
- Has a calendar (2 week and monthly), To Do page & Idea page, multiple dot grid page and then ruled notebook pages.
- Easy to erase with wet paper towel or you can use supplied micro fiber cloth.
- If you need a minor edit during a meeting, pen has eraser on the end that works well for small corrections.
- Take pictures of your notes immediately after a meeting and store in the cloud or email to someone.
Con's:
- Pilot Frixion pens are a little light in color (black) I prefer the blue it shows up darker and easier to read in the pictures and scans better.
- Wiping away the ink can get a little messy, but certainly doesn't take away from the other cool features.
- On the app, if you use Google through a corporate server, you can not automatically send to Google Drive. Send to your email and store it yourself from the attachment.
Overall I love the product and will certainly be recommending to others. Thank you Rocketbook!
