Initial Design.As with all of Nemesis Now's exclusively designed products their creation process starts with idea and concept artworks and once the artwork has been fine-tuned it is sent to HBO for approval. Knowing the series inside and out, they make the final decision on any artworks that are submitted by their designers. If they have the green light it is time to turn the images into 3D prototypes. |
3D Design and Printing.Using a combination of 3D Printing and traditional hand sculpting, the 2D product design is turned into a 3D sculpture, using both science and exquisite craftmanship. Taking every single detail of the art, the 3D Sculptors intricately lift the image until a model can be printed using a state-of-the-art 3D printing machine. |
Traditional Sculpting.Traditional sculpting is used to embellish the product. With hand sculpted adornments, they can successfully achieve a look that is both sleek yet also rustic. Adding delicate details with this method creates a characteristic that cannot be obtained through 3D printing, making the piece return to life (much like the white walkers beyond the wall). |
Hand-Painting.After being cast in the finest resin, it is time for the final step. Each of their products is lovingly hand-painted to ensure that the finest finish is achieved. Using a multitude of different colours and techniques, the final product must bring to life the vision of the initial designs. Every stage of the process is reviewed and critiqued by their expert product developers, working alongside HBO throughout, to ensure that the finished creation is perfect for release. |

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL, worth it if you collect GoT items!
Got this as a gift for my hubby. Absolutely beautiful! Literally one of those things where as a huge GoT fan you shed a single tear at first sight because of the sheer beauty of it. The painted resin is gorgeous (except for 1 spot I pointed out in pic- not worth returning for that). You can definitely tell the great deal of detail that went into making this mug. I also really love the 3D house sigils, the posts and archway detail. The house sayings are also very clear, not blurry and printed out like a digital image.I like that this was cheaper than what HBO was selling it for.CONs: The paint chip on my handle. It is absolutely not safe to drink out of this. Once you remove the mug insert to wash it you automatically break the glue that holds it, and it never sticks again/stays loose inside the frame. You can’t wet the outer mug frame for obvious reasons. It is now a display piece alongside my authentic set salt and pepper shakers.Definitely worth it if you collect GoT stuff!

My father loved this tankard. I was personally amazed by the detail and beautiful hand made quality of the tankard. It is truly the best item I have bought on this site. I realize that this all sounds like a shill and I'm getting paid by the seller to say this but I assure you that I am not. The detail is far greater than the pictures on the item. The tankard is heavy and carries a certain authority as my father has assured me from a night of drinking with his friends. The handle is sturdy and it won't come off even in heavy use. The only thing that may be dysfunctional on the item is the soft felt patches on the inside that keep the inner stainless steel cup still. I had to glue one of them back but after that, It's performed well.
My father takes the tankard off his shelf (of other far too nerdy items for a 51-year-old) to impress his friends and from his reports, It's doing it's job as a true novelty item.
From other reviews, I see that some are disappointed with how the handle feels. Frankly, the burst of pure masculinity of holding such a tankard counteracts the minor scraping on your hand.
My father takes the tankard off his shelf (of other far too nerdy items for a 51-year-old) to impress his friends and from his reports, It's doing it's job as a true novelty item.
From other reviews, I see that some are disappointed with how the handle feels. Frankly, the burst of pure masculinity of holding such a tankard counteracts the minor scraping on your hand.
