First attempt at filling a heavy bag went pretty well. Used the guts from the old 1980s bag I use to have (it smelled fabulous). Did some interwebs learning and took the advice of making caps for each end to hold the form (guy used cardboard, I used foam board). Add some shedded cotton, tamp it down with a baseball bat, add a sandbag then tamp cotton around it. Weighed in at 87lbs. Close enough! Saves a lot of money on shipping over ordering prefilled.
