From the manufacturer
Fisher Space Pen Raw Brass Bullet Pen
The original Bullet Space Pen was conceived in July of 1948. Paul Fisher was soon machining a new pen design shaped from solid aluminum. This pen is now all brass with a raw brass finish.
Cited as an outstanding example of industrial art, the classic design of the Fisher Bullet Pen has been exhibited for years in the New York Museum of Modern Art. The Bullet's timeless styling has been the topic of many art books and magazine articles. Often imitated but never duplicated, the Fisher Bullet Space Pen continues to be our most popular pen.

I like that it can be so small and extended when you write. I also like the feel of the writing. The new one looks like the same great quality and writes amazingly well.
Do caution, brass is really pretty looking, but looks like trash the moment you touch it. Not trash like it's bad, but do know that it will suck up your fingerprints, and don't get me started on how it looks the moment you drop it on some concrete. This is no fault of the pen, it's just what happens with brass. However, it's antimicrobial raw brass and is a terrific pen. Although it's pricey, you can replace the cartridge when it's empty and keep using the pen forever for cheap.
I use this pen every day, as it pairs perfectly with my Field Notes. It's small enough that I don't feel it in my back pocket (usually) but when in "writing form" it fits the hand comfortably and writes well. I also enjoy the "vintage" look that takes over the pen after about a week of use, as the raw brass finish ages quite nicely. Others may prefer the polished, clean look, which may be achievable with proper care and usage. If you fall into this camp, it's important to keep this in mind. Additionally, it is made in the USA, and the only thing better than buying something that supports American workers is buying something that doesn't support sweat-shop labor in a poor part of the world.
One flaw is that it doesn't write (the ink doesn't flow) as easily as a fountain or gel pen, and functions just as a normal Bic pen would. Not a huge flaw in my opinion, but this may be an issue to others.
Additionally, when I used this (and my first pen), the front end cap which holds a spring to keep the ink cartridge in place kept falling off. I remedied this by using super glue which resolved the problem for me. Had I not discovered this fix, and maybe if anyone else other than me had this problem based on internet research, I'd remove a star. But, since it is fixed and seems to be a non-issue to everyone else, no stars will be removed.
This pen is good-looking, functional, and I don't regret my purchase, and have bought one for my significant other (that she uses every day as well). And while I may not be going to the vacuum of space, or need to write upside down all the time, its small form factor is perfect for how I use it. Great product.

All in all it is a neat pen that seems solid as a rock, and I guess it's functional...?
The pen is shorter than average and is ergonomic but takes a bit getting used to. The cap fits tightly on the pen. Sometimes I forget that it's on and it's fallen to the ground but has never dented or scratched or gone off true. It's highly engineered and has an aeronautical feel to it. The weight is also nice. Since the pen is shorter than most and has no clasp, it's easy to lose and needs a designated spot. For traveling it fits well in a front jeans pocket.
I probably have hundred freebie pens at home and like to keep this one in its holder instead. Less is more.
