If you are changing from another brand or another gauge you made need to adjust the position of the bridge of your mandolin to correct the intonation. If the string is in tune when open but high pitched on the twelfth fret loosing the string and slide the bridge down. This may take a few tries, but it is worth it. This is something that all mando players should learn.
The others sound great and were easy to use, I'm just salty that I don't have all the strings now.
Top reviews from other countries
First off, they are a light string, just like the reviews say. Generally I like that, but... from an strictly engineering standpoint these strings don't have the tensile strength of, let's say, the light D'Addario EJ73's. I don't know if they service test mandolin strings, it's an art not a science. But when my string goes PToink! and whips my hand as I am tuning my mando right after install...enough said.
Also, the sound is just different than my usual D'Addario's ... you know like listening to music through those war-time horn speakers - like on MASH. Anyhow. Each to their own.
Go ahead an order them. All those famous people did on their label... then go back to ordering your usual.
Can you even buy just an E string?
