Good product but has some flaws

Good product but has some flaws
For one of the few kids fitness tracker choices, this product has its benefits. I really enjoy the customization for my son's rewards and chores. My son is 8 and has been wanting to compete with me and my Fit Bit. It is unfortunate that there aren't many kid friendly fitness trackers out there. There are restrictions on the software as a parent has to operate and log in each day which can be time consuming. When we first got this product I thought for sure it wouldn't fit because it looked extremely small, but it actually fit him quite well once we figured out it stretched like a rubber band. We've had this band now for only 3 months and it already got 2 tiny pin pricks in it, which just like a rubber band every time it stretches it gets larger so that now it is about to rip in half. I just ordered a replacement band which was sort of nice because there are more color choices and he can customize. I noticed that most all the replacement bands are not the rubber band style, but are the watch type with holes that cinch. I'm not sure if my son will like this feel as much as the rubber band like style as he's become used to that and not having to worry about it catching on clothing. The other thing that happened within the last month was the screen got scuffed already. I should have figured with an 8 year old that damage would occur, but I really didn't think the screen would scuff like it did. Overall I like the product and my son enjoys it. It does what I wanted it to do by keeping him active and motivated each day. I'm disappointed with the damage that has already occurred having only owned it less than 4 months.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great gift for any girl ages 6-10
Reviewed in the United States on July 20, 2019
My 8 year old loves to know the time. So a watch was already wanted. With this watch, there is so much more.

She keeps track of steps and her activity minutes. When we see another kid on the playground with one, they start to compare their steps and minutes for the day!

We are just now starting to put chores on her app, and her watch shows how many she has done and has left to do. When she does the chores, she gets tokens, which enable her to get things in the app. We are just starting this feature though.

On a vacation with lots of walking, we walked about 10 miles one day. Here is a picture of her steps the watch counted... 23,560. I only gave the watch a 3/5 on accuracy, because it will count a variety of movements as steps, when they aren't. If a kid sits and bounces their arm, it will count! So it's not perfect. But if they are truly out walking and playing, it is accurate. Her steps were always more than mine for the day on vacation, but then she takes more steps to go the same distance. It seemed to be proportional each day.

The timer is fun. You can set it for 2 minutes of brushing, or five minutes to finish a task, 30 more minutes of swimming, etc. It will notify your parent phone app when a timer has been set. It's just a fun way to be involved with what they are doing and thinking.

I like this as a gift because it's not a junky toy that ends up on the floor. It has a better purpose and use and accomplishes both. It encourages responsibility and self reliance. No more asking how long until something happens. Possibly better chore compliance. We'll see how that part goes.
