I purchased this initially without the riser, and I had to melt my face to my rifle to get a good view of the red dot. BUY THE RISER.
After the riser came in, we were all set.
Very easy installation, the battery life is awesome, and man is this thing pretty. I have put a couple hundred down range with pin point accuracy after I zeroed it in. I can only speak from having it mounted on my .22 LR, this thing stays zeroed, is durable and is a lot of fun.
OVERALL- This thing beats anything else in it's price range that I've looked at.
also worth noting, there is little to no starburst except on the highest settings, even on high it was nothing like the cheaper Feyachi or Cvlife reflex sights i’ve owned
ill also suggest mounting this on a Monstrum riser, either the .80” medium profile for co-witness (which i prefer) or the 1.0” high profile for 1/3 co-witness
also gonna suggest the UTG Slim rear flipup sight, it’s not a Magpul BUS but it’s also not $50, it’s well made and easy to adjust with tactile indexed windage “clicks”, the dual aperture is nice but i find the larger of the two too big shooting both eyes open, no points lost here tho
odds are if your RDS budget is $100 you’re working with a budget AR with A2 gas block fixed front sight, this is exactly what i built for my kid and its the perfect budget sight setup, i do plan on setting him up with an optic which will likely be the Bushnell AR-series 1-4x mounted on a CCOP 30mm canti mount, the scope generally sells for $140 and $30 for the canti, ive run this exact setup on my AR pistol and it’s great for 25-100 yards, this AT3 RDS is small enough i may try running it on a 45 offset mount adjacent the Bushnell 1-4x, i think it could be the perfect LARPing rig
