Sergio Corbucci's Immortal Classic – Now Restored From The Original Negative!Franco Nero stars as the lone stranger who roams the West dragging a coffin filled with chaos towards a destiny ruled by vengeance. Co-writer/director Sergio Corbucci (THE GREAT SILENCE, COMPANEROS) packs his landmark classic with indelible images, unforgettable performances and some of the most shocking brutality of any 'Spaghetti Western' ever made. This is the still-controversial epic that defined a genre, launched a phenomenon and inspired over 50 unofficial sequels. This is the one and only DJANGO!This definitive edition of DJANGO has been re-mastered from the original camera negative, recently discovered in a Rome vault untouched for over three decades. Also included for the first time is the optional Italian audio track featuring Franco Nero's own voice. Following two years of extensive restoration, Blue Underground is no proud to present the most stunning and complete version of DJANGO you will ever se

Damn, Django looks better than ever!

Damn, Django looks better than ever!
For most folks, Spaghetti Westerns begin and end with Clint Eastwood’s Man With No Name trilogy (Fistful of Dollars, For a Few Dollars More, The Good The Bad & The Ugly). But in their native Italy, the western continued to be a money-making machine long after Clint ambled off to greener pastures. Django, starring Eastwood look-alike Franco Nero as mysterious drifter who stumbles into town dragging an equally mysterious coffin, inspired just as many imitators as Sergio Leone’s work, if not more. A slightly more violent take on Fistful’s double-agent scenario, Django straddles the political fence between a power-hungry Southern general and a devil-may-care Mexican revolutionary. In director Sergio Corbucci’s film, there are no friends or lovers; only tenuous alliances or a temporary truce. His film is ugly, brutal and borderline nihilistic.Texas, Adios is the double feature, with Nero once again at the heart of it all as a mono-syllabic Sheriff on a quest to avenge the murder of his father. The fistfights, gunfights and verbal sparring here are all dependably entertaining, in what is probably closest to the straightforward Eastwood/Leone films. Nero has the tough-guy characterizations down to a tee and uses all the charisma his five o’clock shadow will allow. By now, it’s the expectation of the bloody retribution that is most enjoyable, rather than the final act itself. And what better way to enjoy it than the new 4K Ultra HD release (Texas, Adios remains a Blu-ray) which includes a 60-page collectors book, fold-out poster, and lobby cards. The discs themselves are loaded with interviews, critical appreciations and commentaries for both films. It’s doubtful you’ll ever need another version on the shelf…but it will come down for plenty of visits!
