So I bought this for my boyfriend for our anniversary. He had a long board but it was stolen and he's been wanting a new one for a while but he's very humble and does not like to spend too much on himself. (His last one was a gift too) He loved it!!!!

Got this board a few weeks ago and already had a return request in before receiving it because i read a review that said it was rated for up to 160lbs and I'm closer to 180. After receiving it though, I lightly rode it and liked it a lot, so i decided to keep it. After riding it harder, i really like it now! Board turns on a dime. I haven't tightened the trucks yet, just a little tiny bit like i want to, but it still rides great. Nice flex to it with it's bowed upward design. Also, it has a nice, comfortable concave with good grip tape, is a good length, has nice wide and smooth wheels, and looks sharp (graphics, drop through trucks and greenish blue wheels). I do plan on getting some super swiss 6 bearings for it soon, but the bearings it comes with are decent. I use this board just for cruising around and taking my dog for walks, but the board is smooth, quiet, turns nicely and takes on cracks and pebbles/rocks pretty well. This board would probably bomb hills pretty well, and I bet it would do it damn fast too. I do wish somehow they could incorporate a little kick tail to the back end, buttt then again maybe not. All in all great board and easy to ride even with the trucks a little loose the way it came to me.

This is my first long board, but I have ridden daily for years on other skateboards (mostly street, but I also enjoy skate parks when I can get there). My impression is that this is a great starter long board for the price. You can find cheaper set-ups, but the Sector 9 offers solid components that you will be happy to live with for a long time.

Sidewinder (double pivot) trucks allow great carving action and allow for a full u-turn in less than a 10 foot arc. The board is springy and soaks up the bumps on the road. I like the drop through set-up with the side cutouts that allow for the crazy actuation of the trucks while carving hard. My neighborhood roads are chip-sealed (basically: tar, then gravel is sprayed somewhat evenly over the tar when wet.) I can ride comfortably and quite fast in these conditions, although on some high speed hill descents I experienced some speed wobble so I don't know how fast it would go on a smoother road (I will let you know on later tests).

Bearings are "ABEC 5" rated so they are middle-to-upper-end and finely machined--no complaints with them. The wheels are pretty spongy (important on my roads), fast, grippy and generally a good match to the rest of the components. They seem to be holding up well and not grinding away. Sector 9 did a good job.

WHAT WOULD I UPGRADE? After a year or two I can see myself getting a slightly longer 100% bamboo board, but the ones I am looking at start around $200 just for the deck. By then my wheels will need replacing, but I will probably stay with something similar. I will keep the same trucks and bearings.

I'm a beginner so I don't know a lot about longboard. But I feel lucky to own it as my first longboard. For the first sight I saw it, I thought wow it's beautiful. The graph on its back is delicate and endurable. When I placed my feet on it, I fount it pretty stable(the body is made of maple, a strong kind of wood). It's fast, smooth, easy to carve and can serve as a perfect tool of transportation at college. As for its flaws, I have to mention that slight speed wobbles would show up every time I rush down from a hill. It's kinda dangerous.

I am a beginner and am absolutely loving this board. It's very easy to balance on and great for cruising along or doing curvy bike trails. I would highly recommend this board for anyone starting out! Just beware of step hills on this board, it's great at taking sharp turns but terrible at high speeds! I tightened the bushings down quite a bit and that solved some of the speed wobble issues but I'm still weary of long hills.

Note: make sure to look up how to boil bushings before using. I didn't know to do that and now they are incredibly squeaky, but that's my fault for being a noobie.

Note: I'm 5'9 and 140 pounds. The board is flexible but looks like it doesn't do as well if the person riding it is upwards of 165 pounds.
Can't wait for another nice day to go boarding again!!

Coming from a longboarder that is at the intermediate level.

I had the board for about a month now and I can safely say that the board is a good build. This board is mostly for hard carving, it can be tighten for bombing hills and cruising downtown. The board is very light compared to my old board and is very easy to carry. If you get this board remember that this board does not have any room(on the tail) to kick the board up. Nor does it have a kicktail (would be great), but another thing is the board is higher than most drop-though boards(because of the double king pin) which makes it harder to foot brake and makes sliding a challenge for me at least. I do like the hardware on this board, the only thing I would replace is the bearings to bone super reds or something to your liking. The wheels are fine but if you do want to bomb hills I would get bigger wheels(80mm recommended).

Awesome board. Rides well, looks great, and carves like crazy. The sidewinders make getting around both my college campus and my neighborhood no problem. I weigh 205lbs and the board is fine.

Super smooth and easy to learn. This was my first board and I love it. Stays in my car and is part of my daily commute from parking lot to the office; however, I ride it anywhere I get the chance since it's just so much fun.

Perfect for nice smooth and buttery turns. I wouldn't say the board is really meant for extremely fast speeds, but more meant for corning and turns in general. Strong THIN board (doesn't warp/ bend very much like some other boards ive seen) and lower to the ground so that you get a feeling that you are "more safe" and not riding super high. I find it great for maneuvering through people while riding to class. Im 6"2' and around 150lbs (although weight for this board is not really relevant) and i think that the length of this board is perfect for anybody like me or shorter!
5 stars all the way!
