And make indoor planting become more easier and more convenient. This results in bigger buds and higher yield all while saving you on energy costs. |
Excellent PAR OutputThe Reflector Design increase PAR Output by 50% is scientifically engineered to keep the balance with excellent PAR Output and suitable Coverage. This design reflects more light to the plants, at the same time will not far too concentrated in the middle of the growing area which results in stunted plant growth and sunburning. |

HOW TO COMPARE LED GROW LIGHTS?
If you have been researching LED grow lights for your plant growth facility, you have likely been bombarded with a variety of metrics that lighting manufacturers use to market their products: watts, lumens, LUX, PAR, PPF, PPFD. In our opinion, you woud like a lighting system that delivers the required amount of light to your plants. In order to explain the correct method for evaluating a horticulture lighting system, let’s first highlight two of the metrics used today that you need to avoid:
RULE 1: DON'T FOCUS ON THE WATTAGE OF THE LED'S. Do you use 5W, 10W, or 15W LEDs? We are asked this question on a frequent basis, but the wattage of the LED use in light does not tell you anything meaningful about the lighting system's performance since LED and fixture efficiency varies widely. Remember, the LED wattage is a system input, and growers care about the system output--PAR Output. Hence, the lighting system using 10W or 15W LED wattage doesn't deliver more light to your plants than lighting system using 5W LED wattage.
RULE 2: DON'T LOOK AT A SINGLE PPFD MEASUREMENT. Unless you are growing a small plant directly under your light, a single PPFD measurement doesn’t tell you much. By clustering the LEDs closely together and using narrow beam optics, it is very easy for a manufacturer to show an extremely high PAR measurement directly under the fixture. However, unless you are only growing one plant in this exact location, you need to know how much PAR is being distributed across the entire canopy.
Three important questions you should look to be answered when researching LED grow lights are:
Question 1: How much instantaneous PAR from the fixture is available to plants (measured as PPFD)? Question 2: How much PAR is being distributed across the entire canopy? Question 3: How much wattage is used by the fixture to make PAR available to your plants?
The three key metrics of the V300 used to answer these questions are:
|
|
|
---|---|---|
PPFD directly under the FixturePPFD is photosynthetic photon flux density. PPFD measures the amount of PAR that actually arrives at the plant, or as a scientist might say: “the number of photosynthetically active photons that fall on a given surface each second”. PPFD is a ‘spot’ measurement of a specific location on your plant canopy, and it is measured in micromoles per square meter per second (μmol/m2/s) . |
PPFD over a 2’x2’ AreaIf you are growing over a 2’ x 2’ area, you need to review the PPFD levels over the entire area to calculate the average light level the lighting system is providing. If you only had a center point measurement you may assume a fixture is extremely powerful. However, you would need multiple measurements across the 2×2 grow area to calculate the average amount of PAR that is provided by the fixture. |
Actual Power DrawIn general, for well-designed full spectrum lighting system, the higher actual power draw is, the higher PAR Output a lighting system emits to plants. So how much actual power draw do you get when buying other 600W(60x10W) LED grow lights? |
Using Suggestion: Remember to properly adjust the height accordingly to your plants' respond.

It is very bright and purple and I have it placed in my dinning room so to help mitigate that a bit I've just surrounded my shelf with foam board. It's easy to just move the board away when I want to check in on them. Not the prettiest solution but it works for me. I picked up a timer for the outlet at Home Depot and have it set to go on and off with the sun, so it's on around 12 hours a day give or take. I do change the hours every so often as the season's change but otherwise it's set it and forget it.
As long as the vents aren't blocked the unit never gets hot and it's even cool to the touch in some spots. It does get a bit dusty but I just use compressed air to blow it out every so often.
Overall a very good light! My collection is starting to expand beyond it's range so I'll probably switch to T5 bulbs on a larger shelving unit but this is still great for a smaller space.
EDIT: It's now March 2023 and this light has finally died. All the LEDs are extremely dim and flickering. 5 years seems like a good run, but it says it has a Lifespan of ≥100,000 hours. I have my timer set to the currently season's day light hours, so for me i've probably only run it for 22,000 hours max. I'm not really upset about it, it's had a good run, but it did not last 100k hours.

As soon as I switched on the 600 watt lights, you have heard the term explosive growth, well holy cannabis gods, these AK-48's went nuclear, they are about 3 1/2 weeks old now and going for broke. The plan is to put these 300 watt bad boys in a circular pattern around the plants and the existing 4 600 watt lights & angled at 20 degrees on the perimeter. So this afternoon I will be installing these Vipar Spectra 300's
I wont be able to veg them more than 2-3 more weeks, my grow shed is a 10'/10'
Another 2-3 weeks of veg, then 8 weeks of bloom then it's party time.
It's been about a week since I installed the 8 300 watt lights, I will try to restrain my excitement here, but holy THC, an insane growth rate, it seems the more light the better. I wanted to veg for 8 weeks and flower for 8, but the plants are getting too big, too fast, if I can do some bending and tying I can maybe veg for 6 weeks, they are going to be 5' tall including the grow bags real soon. The plan is to switch to the bloom cycle on Nov 1st.
I had to cut the veg short and start bloom cycle, it's second week and I'm seeing buds forming, very exciting. I'm constantly raising lights and tying tops and even kinking the tops, it's heartbreaking but they recover fast. Getting ready to blast some guano top dressing and tea and I got some of the liquid stuff. Imagine this, 12 Vipar Spectra's, LED lights on a half dozen Indica Sativa hybrids, in the richest guano earth worm loam. I'm beating off these plants with a stick.
I just finished the 3rd week of flower, somebody hold me down, I got some big nugs forming. The AK-48's are beasting up, the smells, the excitement. 5 or 6 more weeks, a few are late starters but I'm in shock. These early buds are forming fast and thick, and OMG the smells and the sugary frost that's forming.
I'm looking at 2-3 weeks b4 Harvest. Jan 7th. I don't understand the few bad reviews bcuz these lights perform. Big stanky solid nugs forming w tons of frost, I'm going crazy waiting. But to stay busy I got more clones started and expect another awesome crop by early spring and ready for the outdoors.
Finally harvested the last 2 plants, I had a low ceiling and had to keep plants small. But hold me down, about 2 pounds of dried private reserve. The quality of the flowers were outrageously stanky and frosted. Highly potent, my friends come by more often now. Started some new clones in the garage but these lights wont keep the area warm, I had to get a 600 Halide for only that reason. The Vipar Specta lights grow great, veg and flower.
