About this item
- [APPLICATION]: A beam style torque wrench is a must-have tool for automobile mechanics because it allows the user to fasten nuts and bolts to an exact tightness measured by torque, which is recommended by car manufacturers.
- [PRECISION]: This torque wrench uses a calibrated scale fitted to the handle to precisely measure torque and includes a graduated tip to prevent parallax error.
- [QUALITY]: This dual drive torque wrench is constructed with a powerful steel alloy and a durable corrosion-resistant mirror-chrome finish for long lasting service life in your automotive garage or at home.
- [EASY-TO-READ]: This intuitive scale is calibrated in both directions from 0 to 150 foot-pounds (SAE), while also in metric from 0 to 20 meter-kilograms for quick and easy readability and convenience to the user.
- [RELIABLE]: Beam deflection wrenches provide precise readings every time and do not come out of calibration like a drive click torque wrench that must be recalibrated.
- [VERSATILE]: This tool comes with a 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch anvil, which are included for added versatility and includes a 17” long shaft and grooved handle to help supply ample torque to your bolts and nuts.

Some say it's a cheapie, but it fulfills its intended purpose. It's also useful for marine engine head gaskets and exhaust/intake manifold jobs. Some mention that the adapter and double sided usability make it a great tool for older cars.

Customers are mixed about the tightness of the wrench. Some mention that it's within acceptable tolerances, fits their needs, and has a huge range of measurement. They also say that the neck on the attachement broke on a very first try without even getting to it. Customers also say the smaller 3/8 drive broke right off the wrench, the socket adapter broke off, and the needle got bent somehow.

Thoughts:
1. I have no idea what some of the reviewers are talking about when asking how to use this with 3/8; it comes with a 3/8 attachment, as you can see in my photo.
2. Along the lines of my first point, I also have no idea what the the reviews are talking about that say this can't be used both ways or if you use the 3/8 attachment, you can't see the torque readout. That's simply not the case. Whether attaching the 3/8 or using the 1/2, at no time are you forced to read the torque from behind or backward.
3. One of the reasons I subtracted a star is because the handle is simply not very comfortable.
4. The other reason I subtracted a star is because the torque readout is hard to read due to small print. However, this is a huge torque range so it's understandable. What I did, was simply take a washable marker and mark the spec I needed just a little bolded with a yellow highlighter. Works fine and washes off, if your vision isn't perfect like mine.
5. It's accurate. I torque several things and had my uncle verify with his torque wrenches(very accurate and high dollar). It was never more than 2% off.
In sum, come on, this is under $20 and accurate; what more could you possibly want? I absolutely resoundingly recommend this.
Cheers!

This should be also useful for automobile (e.g. the lug nuts), but I haven't had a chance to do it yet.
I don't have a way to check the accuracy of it, but the simple design itself means calibration (to zero) is simple. As long as the design is right, it shouldn't off much.
A very useful and affordable tool.
