The Relentless Warrior is book six in the Star-Crossed Series.

Jericho Bentley is disillusioned by life. He feels lost in a world of peace and restless in a time threatened by war. He has given up on love, forgotten how to trust others, and decided a lifetime of bachelorhood is all that remains for him.

Olivia Taylor was struggling to find her way in a human world. Now taken from the only life she's ever known and changed on a molecular level, she is more lost than ever. With her sister struggling to survive the aftereffects of one of Dmitri Terletov's experiments, Olivia sets off with Jericho to find a cure for both herself and her sister. Together, Jericho and Olivia find more than vengeance and answers; they find a deep friendship that might teach them both to trust again. Maybe even to love again. As long as they can both put the hurt of their past behind them for good.

4.5 stars -- So nice to have more Rachel Higginson imagination to read. Confession time: I was not one of the millions of girls that fangirled all over Jericho. I loved him as a character, but I was never in love with him. So I was not one of the millions waiting for his love story. Regardless, what a beautiful love story it was. And Jericho was so much more than I remembered him being. I mean, he was always sexy and funny and sweet. But this book delved deeper into how he felt about his position and the man he'd become and what he would do for the people he loved. Being confronted with a man who actually had to do the dirty and hard things to keep his world safe was harder than I expected. I felt so much for him, and never really thought about how he would handle that. It's not something that we think about much, even in the real world. I thought Ms. Higginson did a fabulous job of really showcasing a *warrior*.

Now onto the fangirliness. I never had desires or expectations for Jericho's inevitable soulmate, but Olivia was spot on. She was hilarious, feisty, a bit damaged, both beautifully strong and vulnerable at the same time. And I loved how down to earth she was!! I've never been much of a fashion/makeup girl, so I never quite cared about all of that with the other Star-Crossed heroines, so to have one that was more like me was dream come true.

And holy toledo, the steam factor..... I...I just....wow. The pool? OMG. Seriously. There are no words.

As usual, loved the action and forward motion in the Terletov storyline. I did feel like some of that got rushed at times, and that's where this book lost the half a star. SPOILER: I hadn't really had a chance to reconnect with any of the captured characters before they were killed, and so it wasn't as impactful as I guess I felt it could have been. And little things like Eden and Kiran being detained at the end, but then just escaping....it was kind of anti-climatic. END SPOILER So yeah. Loved it, but felt a bit short changed at the end there. Super excited to see how it all wraps up with Sebastian's story....he was off for me in the book, so I can't help but wonder what is going on with him.

So in conclusion, if you've loved the Star-Crossed series thus far, you will love this next installment. It had all the factors that make Rachel Higginson books fabulous, including (and my secret favourite part) the humour. ENJOY!!!

As always this series brings heartache and pain but ends with love! This world of magic is full of infinite possibilities and dangers!!

Love, love, love this book! I love this series, I read all the books! This particular one focuses on Jericho, my favorite character in this series! When I was reading the first few books, I thought Jericho would end up with Eden. When he did not, I was kind of disappointed! Although it makes sense that Eden ends up with Kiran. I always like Jericho's character, he is fearless, strong, but gentle, and caring. He deserves someone after Eden, and I am very happy to see that he has Olivia. She is perfect for him! She was kind of annoying at the beginning, but then she became strong and just perfect for him. Olivia becoming immortal had to happen so she can be with Jericho.
I loved reading what Jericho was thinking, it was so amusing at times. This series is amazing! It had me laughing, crying, I was so engrossed that I wanted to take a day off from work to just read, read, and read! I hope there is another book, maybe about Olivia's sister and one of the boys.

I honestly wasn't very excited for this book in the Star-Crossed series, because Jericho is one of my least favorite characters for some reason. Maybe it is because I'm fully Team Kiran. However, getting to read this book from both Jericho's and Olivia's perspectives made me view him in a different light. I'm happy Jericho is no longer pining for Eden and found someone that has so much spunk. I loved the plot and action of the story and thought it was a good balance to the romance parts. I loved the inclusion of the other main characters from the series too. Rachel Higginson is probably my favorite author. Her books always suck me in and make me impatient for more. Although Jericho is still not one of my favorite characters, I like him a little more now. I thought this was a great installment to the series, but what I'm REALLY EXCITED for is Sebastian's book!!

I was a huge fan of the first four books and was totally sucked into it. I was really excited for these follow up books but they just are not written as well.

I wanted to love this and Jericho so very much. The love story with Olivia just felt too rushed... or something. I just didn't find myself caring or rooting for them, and I think Jericho deserved that kind of love so that was a little sad for me (I was really sucked into the first four books so felt pretty attached to the characters). What I found most off putting was that for every one page of actual dialogue and action, there were three of internal musings about how beautiful and perfect the other was or what felt like justifications of their choices. I actually just skipped several pages or paragraphs and don't feel at all like I missed anything. I think these stories have so much promise and were set up so perfectly it's hard to understand how it's come to this.

Sebastian's story is next and he was absolutely my favorite secondary character, I was looking forward to his story the most. At this point, I'm not even sure if I care enough to find out what happens now. If it comes out this year, then I will probably read it and I will be hoping the author can recapture that magic and world she brilliantly created in the first four.

Another great book from Rachel Higginson. Filled with lots of action, adventure and romance, it has everything you want. I love that Jericho finally got his own story and his own love & I enjoyed hearing about the old characters too.

One thing I liked in particular was that Jericho doesn't try to baby Olivia. While he wants to protect her, he understands that she can look after herself and can stand alongside him in battle. Olivia herself is a good strong character however she still has a vulnerable side and is not afraid to look to Jericho for comfort and support.

All in all another great instalment in the star crossed series and I look forward to reading the Redeemable Prince.

5.0 out of 5 stars I found this whole series a delight to read as it was well written

I found this whole series a delight to read as it was well written, which is not always the case with some novels these days. I did however find that there was more focus on the lover than there was on the warrior - but again I think the title led me to believe that there would be a bit more war than love which is how I prefer it. I would highly recommend this book and the complete series as a whole. Could not put it down.

I simply love this book. I have enjoyed all of the books in the Star-Crossed Series but this is definitely my favourite.

I always knew there was more to Jericho and I'm glad that Rachel choose to tell his story. Olivia is more than a match for him and I fell in love with them both. There are a few gentle reminders of what has happened before which has now made me think I need to read them all again.

If you are a Rachel Higginson fan already then this is another brilliant read! If not welcome to the AWESOME world of writing that is Rachel Higginson!!!!
