フック型の刃先刃先は良質な鉄鉱石を原料とするスウェーデン製のハイカーボンボロン鋼を使用した鍛造品。炭素を多く含み、鋼の性質を悪くするリンや硫黄の割合が少ないため、長期間の愛用に耐える強靭な刃先となる。また、ウッドハンドルは美しい木目と高い質感をもつヨーロピアンアッシュを使用。	ヨーロピアンアッシュのウッドハンドル革ひものストラップ付き。ヨーロピアンアッシュは堅さと弾力性に優れ、家具やカヌー、野球のバット、ビリヤードのキューなどにも使用される上質な木材。FSC（森林管理協議会）の認証を取得しており、環境への配慮もなされている。	フックで溝の深いところまでかき出せるレンガや石畳の隙間に詰まった土やコケ、雑草などをかき出して除去することができる。溝の深いところはフック部分を、傾斜のついた縁の部分はブレード部を使うなどの刃先の使い分けで効率的に作業を行える。

I bought this to pull weeds from between the bricks in the courtyard behind my building. I've owned this now for two summers, and I'm very happy with it.

I've found that there are several ways to use this, depending on the specific weed and/or paver situation. The first is to use the hooked-over tip as a sort of gouging implement, which pulls the weed out with a kind of clawing motion. This does get the weed out, but it also pulls a good amount of soil out of the crevice as well. I haven't been very successful with this technique.

Another technique is to use this is with a scraping sort of motion. The leading edge of the tool is sharp enough to cut through weeds, and you can make short work of large areas by scraping over the tops of your pavers. This works, though it leaves the roots in the ground so the weeds can make an easier come-back.

My favorite technique is to use the tool as a sort of lever, forcing the weed out (roots and all) and leaving most of the dirt behind. The method is this: hold the tool in one hand with the sharp edge flat on the ground. Place the sharpened edge at the base of the target weed. With your other hand (preferably gloved), pull the weed forward, folding it over the business-end of the tool. Hold the weed against the edge firmly, and turn the tool with a screwdriver-type motion. causes the tool to pivot about its point, and the rotating edge lifts the weed straight up and out. Works beautifully!

This is a great tool for getting weeds out from between brick pavers.

The Dewit patio knife is an incredibly versatile garden tool. It does a fantastic job of getting between the crevices of our brick sidewalk enabling me to lift out the various weeds that are growing there. In addition I have been using it like a small handheld hoe to quickly break up weeds and small soil clumps in my flower beds. It is easy to handle and fits comfortably in my hand. Definitely not a tool that will sit unused gathering dust in my garden shed. Thank you Dewit.

Solid hand-tool, suitable for cleaning between deck boards and removing jammed up debris, or the usual crack and crevice weeding function. I first tried this gadget when I was stationed in the Netherlands, and saw my Dutch neighbors using them to tidy up their brick work patios/walkways. The tool works, and probably will last decades if stored after use away from direct sunlight or rain. For those who have trouble bending over, then buy a different tool, as this one is meant to be employed while stooping over or from a kneeling position. If this tool was made in China, it would not last very long. Pay the extra couple bucks and get a decent tool.

Great tool for patio

When walking in the neighborhood, I noticed a neighbor using this tool to get a few weeds out form his patio. Never having seen such a tool before, I immediately coveted my neighbors tool. Found it on amazon, and once it arrived I used it to get the weeds and moss out from between the bricks in my patio. It took some time (large patio) but it works really well and is very easy to use. Very happy with the results! I've been recommending it to all my friends as it's a must have if you've got bricks or pavers in your garden.
