After getting that phone call from where I dock my boat , you know the one that drops your stomach .My boat was taking on water from a less then 3 month old bilge pump that failed I replaced at the beginning of summer and bought this one. I'll be honest when it came I said this thing is tiny so I bought a bigger brand and thought I would keep this on the boat just incase. When the phone call came it was already bad as it was after a major storm so I was mad but once I hooked this little gem up I think I could power a dam with it and my battery seems to love this little thing . Bigger isn't always better and never again will I get them 1100 gph rip offs this thing does the job with battery left over

This thing is great! I purchased the 800 GPH model. I put my garden hose in my boat and turned it all the way on. My house has ~60 PSI water pressure at my outdoor spigot. This pump moved the water out at almost exactly the same rate at which it came in. If my boat is taking on more water than that, I'm hitching a ride with someone else!

Solid construction and I really like the detachable base plate/ mounting plate.

I decided to get this little thing before a weekend fishing trip to the mountains of WV. The boat we decided to take was an older aluminum 12 ft. Jon boat. It was been repaired numerous times and both the rivers we were fishing were shallow and rocky in places. I just knew we were going to knock a hole in this boat. I sported for this little Marine pump because of the reviews and the price. I also grabbed some larger alligator clamps that would fit over the posts of my battery and then soldered them in. I had some 3/4" hose, so I cut it to length and took off.

Day one within 3 rock strikes I could see a pin hole of daylight through a boat seem in the rear. Once we were taking on water it gave me a chance to give it a try. All I can say is it blew me away. It worked so well I could not believe it. Having water in the boat is not shocking since we are wading a lot and in and out of the boat constantly. When enough water had collected in the back of the boat I would switch it on and within a few seconds, back to fishing. By the last day, the combination of the now larger hole and the rapid over spray, we were taking on water at a semi-alarming rate. No fear, I plugged the pump up and away it went and it never stopped. It sucked tons of little rocks, gravel, sand, leaves, weed bits, etc....I should have burnt this thing up the way I treated it. And for the price I didn't care, I planned on buying a replacement after 5 minutes of running it. However I didn't need to ....this pump never quit, runs today.

I would have given up day one of my trip if I would have had to bail water with a solo cup all day. This thing saved the trip. It was as simple as turning around and clamping the positive lead to the battery terminal and watch it go. Fear not when considering buying this pump. It is tough as nails.
