When we first received the grill, we had a problem with the igniter. It started up, but after a couple of minutes it would trip the ground fault on the unit. We contacted Camp Chef and they overnighted us a replacement igniter as we were only going to be at that campground for a couple more days. There was also a crack in the plastic handle on the legs that we discovered later and they promptly sent us the replacement for it as well. Camp Chef has been very responsive to our needs and we feel very confident that we will use and enjoy this smoker/grill for years to come.
1. The wheels rub on the frame. Most of the time the wheels don't even rotate when moving. Even worse when folded as it rubs on the hopper box. I've tightened the wheel shafts but no dice. I'll need to install spacers. This likely caused by #2.
2. The legs and leg supports are crap steel as with most grills. They're unstable when unfolded. And there's way too much give in the leg supports. Again, I'll likely modify. Thicker gauge steel isn't too much to ask at $400-500 bones!
3. The grease bucket attachment and location are a trainwreck. The bucket is unstable when attached. If there's any kind of wind, the grease usually ends up dripping down the leg, onto the wheel, and then on the ground. Unacceptable. And the bucket rubs on the leg. I'll need to think about the modification on this.
4. The fit on ash cleanout pan and the top grate are again crap. If you don't have a cover, the ash pan will clang around like church bell on windy days. I remove the bucket and ash pan when I put her to bed. I highly recommend a cover. You're just throwing your money otherwise. The top grate has fallen out me a few times, I usually remove this. May add some fireproof gasket material to ash pan and replace the grate. Simple stuff, Camp Chef.

Pros: Camp Chef quality and features is a portable package. Stores nicely in the RV
Cons: It is heavy - around 80 lbs - so it helps to have someone to assist when it is time to put it away.
