The grips are sound and just the right size for a large hand. Craftsmanship is right on, with the use of first rate materials, as well as precision tooling.
These snips will get lots of use in the future. If you need to cut metal, wire, or fencing, then this is the tool for you.
I ordered a Stanley FatMax 9 7/8 inch straight cut pair of snips based on price, reviews, and the name "Stanley". (Not that "Stanley" means "Infallible" but it is a name I recognize and that's a plus to me). Stanley offers a limited Lifetime Warranty on this gadget.
The Stanley performs as advertised; I tried them out on various bits and pieces when I received them and they are just the thing for my tool tote - the one that has "general" tools in it for fixit jobs and puttering.
I like the locking mechanism, and it can be unlocked using one hand.
Speaking of hands, the Stanley has a very nice set of hand grips that should (YMMV) keep your hands fairly comfortable when snipping away on longer jobs.
EDIT 7/18/16: With additional usage I've found that it's quite possible to pinche one's hand while using the FatMax. An adjustment in one's grip can avoid being pinched, but I felt I should mention the issue.
Not a tool that I'll use every day, but at least now I'll have a set of snips that are more readily available. Tool boxes are great, but only if you're near them when you need the tool.
HTH
Regards,
Jim
