J. PARKER has been writing at the Hot, Holy & Humorous blog since 2010, using a biblical perspective and a blunt sense of humor to foster godly sexuality. Her mission to encourage sex in marriage by God s design was inspired by her personal story and God s beautiful nudging. Married for twenty-three years, she has two teenage sons, lives in Friendswood, Texas, and holds a master s degree in counseling and lives in Friendswood, Texas, a bedroom community between Houston and Galveston.

J. Parker is a Christian sex author, speaker, blogger, and podcaster. While she has a master’s degree in counseling, it’s her personal story of redemption in the area of sexuality that makes her passionate about passion.

Her ministry, Hot, Holy & Humorous, began as a simple blog with the goal of helping others understand God's design for sex in marriage. Since then, she's published over 1,000 blog posts, written five books, released more than 130 podcast episodes with her three co-hosts, and launched an online community for higher desire wives. Yet J’s goal remains the same: helping couples embrace God's blessings for their marriage bed.

J has two grown sons and lives in Texas with her husband of nearly 30 years.

I read this as a husband to be and found it helpful to know for my wife to be. God created sex for his purpose and glory in marriage and it helps to know a little more of the technicalities of sex from a Christian perpsective. A lot of books out there only talk about God's design for sex, which is great and all but that's like telling me how amazing a bike design is but not telling me how to ride it! J Parker gives more specific advise on the "how-to's" of sex from a Christian perspective and a lot of humor. I'd advise engagement couples to read separately and to do so a month or so before your wedding, but also to read another book on God's design/purpose of sex. I read this first then wrote some notes in it and gave it to my fiancee a month before the wedding.

It is written from a wife's perspective, and I am a husband, but I really appreciated all the sensitive subjects the author addressed, and how. She did not shy away from some subjects of life and sex, just because she knew that some silver-haired Baptist grandmother may be reading, or some judgmental "Gracie" would have something to say. Let the nay-sayers have their way, they always do, and this book deals with them succinctly. It is brilliant and insightful every step of the way. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have.
