wonderfully absorbant and soft micro-towels

I was so impressed by the quality of these microlite towels when they arrived. My past experience with micro-towels was always that they had the texture of felt and were absorbent but were also unpleasant on your skin. These towels couldn't be more different. They are incredibly soft as well as super absorbent. And I love the carrying cases with the carabiner that they come in. Very handy for hanging off of a backpack, so that they are easily grabbed when needed. And the three sizes are perfect. The smallest one is good to stick in a bag for everyday use, the middle one is a good camping towel, and the largest one could easily be used as a full shower or beach towel. I bought these for camping, but I took the largest one to the beach and I was amazed at how quickly it dried off. I was able to stick it back in my beach bag at the end of the day when normally I'd have had a sopping-wet beach towel to deal with. They are so compact and lightweight that I can easily carry them around in my backpack with room to spare when I want to bike to the public pool later in the day. Incredibly versatile and highly recommended!

These are great towels that perform as advertised: soft, absorbent and quick drying. I have found that the two larger towels are particularly useful as 'dog' towels - drying wet, sometimes muddy, dogs before bringing them in the house. In addition to performing well, they are a very convenient size for this purpose. And, when they get dirty, they are easily cleaned and returned to service. The smaller size is very convenient as a hand towel to keep by the kitchen sink. I've also found the towels to be even better than a chamois for drying a wet car without leaving beads or streaks; for this purpose, I prefer the smaller and medium sizes.

I prefer these to standard Packtowls (though, admittedly, I prefer the plusher Luxe Packtowl to these for regular bathtime use). Strange as this may sound, these have a much more satisfying snap on the hanging loop, which audibly and tangibly confirms to me that the snap has been engaged and the loop is secure, unlike the snaps on Packtowls, which give no indication whether or not they're secure, and sometimes leave my towel in a wet pile on the ground (hard to get pine needles out of microfiber).

These have a nice suede-like texture that requires "patting", like most microfiber towels, but they also dry _really_ fast. So far, the hems and snaps have held up well. I don't think these have silver ions in them, but they have not gotten smelly, even though I've used them for weeks without washing them (I do make sure to dry them fully before storing). I have MCS (Multiple Chemical Sensitivities) and I often find that fabric comes with a horrible smell that takes several washings to get rid of (if it ever comes out) -- but these towels smelled fine upon arrival (the mesh storage bags do need a little airing out/washing first) and washed well.

Because these dry so quickly and don't get musty, I actually use these as my bath and household towels. The colors don't coordinate well with decor, but that's really the only shortcoming, IMO. Also, the price is excellent -- three towels of perfect sizes for the price of a single "body-sized" regular Packtowl! If you want/need something that is more "plush" and you can "wipe" yourself dry, I recommend the aforementioned Luxe Packtowl, which does take a bit longer to dry and is heavier/thicker, but still superior to traditional terry cloth towels. But if you prefer lightweight/faster-drying/better snaps/better price.... go with these babies. I just bought my third set!

I really love how small and light these are. They're very easy to clip on your pack or throw in your bag. I was surprised how absorbent they were. My 6 year old son love them too. I can send him to swimming lessons and they are much easier for him to carry. If I could change anything I'd make the pouches a little bigger; It's not horrible to repack, but if they were slightly larger it might save a little time; Then again, its a balancing act: Size vs Portability. Definitely not a deal breaker :)

These towels were the perfect purchase for multiple day kayak trips where space is at a premium. They take up very little room, dry faster than cotton, and the large one doubles as a beach blanket. It comes with handy loops and snaps that enable you to hang it up to dry virtually anywhere.(I may or may not have photos with the orange towel used as a cape...). I also use the large one for my gym bag for the same reasons.

It’s a great value - otherwise I wouldn’t own 2 sets and have a third one stashed away as a present for an avid backpacker.
