Purchased this M80 back in September, as it came from the US it took approximately a month to be delivered. It arrived before the expected date which was a bonus. Upon opening the package everything was in good shape and easily labelled for assembly. Within 2 minutes the M80 was assembled and ready to charge. Charging took the recommended 4 hours before the first cleaning could take place.
Upon first cleaning I was rather impressed with all of the dirt that the M80 picked up but it also picked up little toys and other things. This is definitely one of the down falls of this M80 but I believe any will have the same issue and also if you have a home with many different rooms that are separated by doorways you must ensure that the door is open all the way to the wall to ensure that M80 does not get stuck, also ensure blankets, clothing, towels, etc. are not left on the floor as to not get it stuck in the main brush of the M80. The M80 cleans hardwood flooring and carpets with ease. I have a few transitions within my main floor and it transitions without a single issue.
M80 does a great job at cleaning in tight corners and around legs of sofas and tables. When the M80 made its way into the washroom it did a great job of getting around the toilet and counters. Dry cleaning was great and every day I have the M80 scheduled to do an edge clean (the vacuum follows the walls) it does a great job and clears away all hair and dust along baseboards. Now using the spot cleaning with kids has been a godsend as the remote allows you control the M80 and move it to the location of the spot cleaning. M80 does a great job with items as big as goldfish (crackers) and as small as hair. Now the full cleaning Auto cycle has 2 settings which are normal and max. The max setting does drain the battery a bit faster than the normal setting but that is to be expected from the higher suction. As for the battery life to clear the entire house it only takes about 2 hours to clean my main floor and has plenty of battery to make it home. I have never had an issue with it dying and not making it back to its cradle for recharge. It can occasionally take some time for the M80 to sort out where it is heading to get back to the cradle but it does eventually find its way back.
Overall, experience it is a great a great product and at its price, there is no going wrong, it is perfect for people with busy lives as a great clean up tool but it is not a full replacement for a manual vacuum. It keeps things clean and fresh keeps the house tidy and allows vacuuming to be done less frequently by you.
Previous review
Love it, works great we named her Floorence. I cant understand how the big brand names charge 4x this. Everyday I empty half of a container of dust and cat hair. even the day after doing a manual vacuum
We run it a couple times a week to pick up dog hair and it makes life so much easier than having to bring out the vacuum and do it manually. I can have a coffee and let it go,or turn it on when I leave for work.
The WIFI features work surprisingly well for a unit at this price point. The app shows you battery charge and allows you to start a cycle from anywhere.
The downside are few but important. Hair does get tangled in the roller and you need to cut it off. Not a huge deal when you realize that's why it keeps setting an error fault and stops and beeps at you. That beep is very loud. Which is good if it's under a bed, but annoyingly loud in the living room. I've tried it without the roller and it is not as effective. In all the times we've used it it has never once made it back to the charging dock. It gets close but never gets there. It's painfully frustrating to watch. The lack of mapping as I mentioned above is the only other issue. If you can live with these short comings you'll be pleased with this vacuum. 2 thumbs up. Great value.

We purchased this vacuum after reading many reviews on different brands on Black Friday but didn’t open it till Christmas and since then have run it 10 times for different amounts of time. So far it is working as expected. Many reviews on this vacuum and many other vacuums are very negative and very picky. I think some people are expecting WAY too much from a robotic vacuum even if it is $300 or more. We got a great price on this one and couldn’t pass it up. I think many others expect this to be a complete replacement for manual vacuuming, but it shouldn’t. It is simply a prewritten code programmed onto a little tiny computer and attached to some motors and brushes and sensors.
We came into this vacuum knowing that we would still have to pull our Dyson out and do it ourselves once in a while. We have two dogs that shed an average amount and a child on the way so we wanted something to just help pick up the dog hair so our child wasn’t crawling around in hair.
Setup for us was very easy. Using the app we were able to connect it to the wifi. Yes be aware this vacuum does NOT support 5Ghz wifi networks and requires a 2.5ghz wifi network. We have both networks already set up in our home. That being said we have had no problems with the vacuum being connected to the 2.5ghz network and are still able to control the vacuum from our phones while connected to the 5ghz network. So for all the reviews complaining about having to connect to a slower network to control the vacuum, that’s not the case!
Once the setup was completed we ran the auto mode first. The first thing I noticed was how quiet it was. You could hear it but it wasn’t obnoxious at all and didn’t bother us. It ran for about 15 min till we were tired of our dogs barking at it. Its auto pattern is a combination of the other modes it has: edge cleaning, spot, and intensive. You can tell when it switches between them. I would say all the modes meet my expectations. I think the edge mode works the best, that’s where most of the hair gathers and it follows the walls and furniture well. Yes the auto mode is a bit random and it may not cover 100% of your floors in one run but if you run it once a day probability shows that eventually it will cover everything. You can also manually direct DeeBot via the app to a particular spot to clean or to help it out of a cornered situation.
Our house has 100% hard floors. We have wood everywhere except the kitchen and bathrooms. We have a few rugs throughout including a large area rug in the living room and bedroom. Most are low profile however our entry rug is very thick. DeeBot has no problem transitioning to any of them (sometimes it doesn’t like our black rug at the garage door because the drop sensors think it’s a drop off) and it transitions over our high thresholds between the tile and wood. We also do not have any cords on the floor and not much clutter. It did push our Christmas tree skirt around a little bit but never got tangled or stuck.
The amount of dust and hair it collects has been impressive. Sometimes we have to empty the bin 2-3 times while its running. Not a problem for me, I'd rather empty it than have the dirt on my floor. The brushes pick up and direct the dirt very well. I'm glad this one has two spinning brushes on the front compared to other brands that only have one. It also came with two extra front brushes. The cleaning tool is also helpful in removing hair that gets wrapped around the main brush.
The sensory equipment seems to work adequately. When DeeBot approaches a wall for instance, it slows down before touching the wall and turns. Narrow items such as table legs, chairs, or corners of walls seem to miss the sensors and it will bump into it. Its never hard enough to damage anything but I might add a strip of foam to the front just in case. It will get stuck under chairs, such as dining room chairs. ITS GOING TO HAPPEN! It’s a robot, not a genius. If you run the vacuum just keep an eye on it. If you want to run it and then leave the house just flip your chairs upside down onto your table, that’s what I did and it worked perfectly. It is a bit humorous how he bumps into things. It reminded us of Wall-E so that’s what we named him.
Return to home is a little hit or miss. So far out of 10 runs it successfully returned 7 times, and sometimes it took 5-7 min to find it. We may try moving the base to another spot to see if it helps. The app is simple and easy to use and gives cleaning logs, maintenance reminders, and status for the vacuum. We were also able to successfully connect it to our Amazon Alexia Echo Dot. Now all we have to do it say "Alexia, tell Wall-E to start cleaning" and away he goes.
We have not tried the wet mop feature yet on ours. I do not have high hopes for this function however it was not the main reason we purchased this vacuum. If it works ok then great, if not I still call it a win. We also haven't tried the scheduling program yet either but I think we plan on using it on demand more than a schedule.
Overall it met my expectations. It does work, it is easy, and our floors are cleaner than they were. If you have realistic expectations you will be satisfied with this vacuum. I hope it will last us quite a while.
We have two friends who have a robot vacuum. Both are Roomba - one is a very entry level one and one is pretty high end (or at least it was expensive). I researched those first as they were pretty happy with theirs.
After reading a bunch and watching online videos I decided I was going to spend a little extra and get a "good" one. Then I started being exposed to this Ecovacs brand.
It was important to me that it worked with Alexa. I have a huge number of devices that connect with Alexa - so it was a must for me. But it also had to be a good performer, after all, I am buying a vacuum first right??
The package arrived and I set it up and let it charge. Got the app connected. Got the Alexa skill connected. I decided to run a first "test" of this by eliminating as much as I could from the floor. Put chairs up on the island - dining table chairs up on the table - just to give as much bare floor as I could. I wanted to see what this thing would do with the least amount of stuff on the floor. Then, I placed 5 small areas with some sugar on the floor. Each area was about 6 inches in diameter.
Then I watched.....(yeah, I got time)
This thing just started going anywhere and everywhere. It would go just about up to bump into something, slow down and make for a different direction. It did that over, and over and over, and over and over. It kept cleaning this one section of the dining room area (all wide open concept house) and it just kept staying in that area. I though - how the heck is this thing going to get the entire upstairs hardwood floor area??
But sure enough - it makes its way. Within about 30 minutes - it had already nailed 4 of the 5 sugar spots. I was impressed.
But one of them I put in the back hallway near the bathroom. I thought, there is no way its going to make it over here - and sure enough it eventually did.... AND cleaned that entire area.
Before starting, I looked under both of my couches and of course there were some dust bunnies. All gone after the first run with this thing. Still very impressed.
The overall fit and finish of this thing is good. It didn't feel cheap, or lacking quality. All the pieces of it feel solid and of high quality.
One of my small concerns is the use with Alexa. I can say "Alexa, tell Deebot to start cleaning" and it works great. But I see in the app you have the ability to change the name of the robot. I change the name to "Vacuum". And when i say "Alexa, tell the Vacuum to start cleaning" it doesn't work. Not sure why you have the option of naming it - if it doesn't respond to that name with Alexa. But maybe I am doing something wrong.
I would buy this again and again. And I cant possibly see what would make some of these robot vacuums 700-800 dollars. I cant imagine it being that much better than this one at less than half that price.
I also noticed in some of these reviews for Ecovacs - they have some reviews that are gathered by product testers. I tend to believe those with a grain of salt - so please note that I actually bought this and decided on this one on my own.
If you are looking for one of these - this is a great pick. It does the job well.
I will add to the review after some more time using it to see if I am still as impressed with it. But for now - A+ Ecovacs! Great product!
*******************UPDATE*****************
After a few weeks of use - I am still a huge fan of this thing. Couple updates:
The "mopping feature" is.....well..... kinda useless. Don't get me wrong its ok for cleaning a small area - but if you are thinking you are going to clean your entire floor - its easier to just grab whatever quick mop you used before and knock it out. BUT, having the floors already vacuumed and ready for mopping - that is awesome.
I set mine to run every other day and i have not seen a dust bunny, crumbs, or anything on my floors. It actually makes me mop more often using my Bona cleaning mop.
One other tip - take 20 seconds and just move your chairs up on the table or counter. Get things off the floor. We have made a big effort to clear the floor as much as possible and that way it produces SPECTACULAR results for vacuuming. I am shocked every time I empty the tray to see how much it grabs. The dust in our house has been so greatly reduced because of this.
One other thing I do (and this is just me) I close the doors to the bedrooms (that have carpet) just because I dont think this does a great job on carpet as it does on floors. So I basically have this to keep our kitchen/family room clean. And it does amazing for that.
I am still very, very happy with this product.
