Here's a fittingly regal version of the classic card game of royal sequencing, accentuated with a durable plastic folding play tray and scoring chips. Players play cards, in descending order and alternating color, on any exposed card in the tray. The object is to get rid of all the cards in your hand. Haven't got a black queen to play on that red king, or a red seven for that black eight, Your Highness? Well, draw a card from the deck--and toss a chip into the royal treasury while you're at it! Get rid of all your cards and collect the pot--including one chip for every card remaining in opponents' hands. First to 100 wins. When it comes to fast-paced fun for your whole royal family, Kings in the Corner by Jax is wild! --Tony Mason

A twist on familiar gameplayKings in the Corner uses the traditional gameplay of Solitaire with a twist, making it an exciting group game. Players use the unique fold-away control center to set up the game, placing cards in the tabbed stalls and leaving the corner stalls for the Kings. At the beginning of each hand, each player places one chip in the chip pot, which the winner will earn at the end of the round. |
Develops STEM skills like pattern recognition and sequencingAfter the chips are in the pot, the first player places any playable cards from his/her hand into the tabbed stalls or Kings stalls and/or makes any other moves available. Cards played in all stalls must be played in alternate colors as in Solitaire and must be lower in sequence than the card on which it is played. If a player can't make at least one play, he/she must place one chip into the pot. |
A fun mix of luck and strategyOnce a player wins the hand by being first to get rid of all his/her cards, the other players put one chip in the pot for each of the cards remaining in their hand. The winner of the hand receives all the chips in the pot and records the number for his/her score. All the chips are collected and redistributed for a new round of play. The first player to accumulate 100 points wins the game! With it's exciting blend of strategy and luck, Kings in the Corner makes a fun choice for family night! |
