Product Description
Titebond Cold Press for Veneer is a high-quality, economical alternative to contact cement for large-scale bonding of veneers to flat surfaces. It is specifically formulated for cold press laminating of wood to solid woods, particleboard, MDF, plywood and other porous materials. Titebond Cold Press offers a moderate speed of set, a translucent glue line and contains none of the harmful or corrosive fumes typical of most contact cements. It also prevents bleed-through on open-grained and unbacked wood veneers.

Customers are mixed about the bond. Some mention it's a high solids glue intended to reduce bleed through when used with thin veneer, and it works best because the glue does not bleed. However, others say that if you don't stir, the result is a very poor bond, and the glue can leave a dangerously sharp glue line.

adhesion.
High points:
- minimal bleed through, and what little there was disappeared with the scraper
- reasonable open time so I can glue up a couple of projects for pressing at the same time
- easy to apply - not too thick or runny. I used foam brush
Be aware of:
- I read somewhere that 1-2 hours in press at 70deg F recommended, but found glue still wet and first project I removed at that time was not set and created a ridge in veneer
- since leave in press more like 6 hours and nicely set and no movement ... this in PA summer temps 80+ and humid
- nice result and no sharp edges to cut me.
In summary I am buying more and will continue to use. Nice not to have to mix 2-part glue, and great results so far after 4 projects through press.
I think the other reviews that complain of wet glue did not leave in press long enough. I strongly suggest 6!hours at 70+
Unfortunately, due to the nicely moulded handle in the side of the bottle, you can reach only about half of the gunk at the bottom.
And, I found from sad experience, if you don't stir, the result is a very poor bond (if you find yourself in this situation, try applying a VERY light coat of oil-based finish as a sealer before continuing to finish -- no water-base and no shellac).

The glue is very good but only 2 stars because of the price
It has a good open time. WAIT a few minutes so the glue can dry a bit, it will be a bit less fluid before pressing.
