I saw an illustration from this book by Norman Lindsay on Facebook, and I immediately wanted to read it! I found it on Project Gutenberg, and was immediately entranced! So I ordered it, and I love it! This era of children’s literature and illustration in England and the US has always fascinated me, and now I have an example of Australian literature from this same period. It is witty and raw and silly and childish and full of the culture and flora and fauna intrinsic to Australia—a real picture into the bygone era! Of course, it is also full of stereotypes and biases of the time period. I don’t condone this nor wish to bring any of that back, but I do find it fascinating.

This has been one of my favorite books since I was a child. So glad to be able to buy a copy and pass it on to my godson.

Great book. Glad I could find a copy of it after all the years it has been since I read it first. Gave it as a Christmas present to a child I know. Thanks

This edition of The Magic Pudding looks like a poor photocopy of the original. The book is meant as a book for all ages, and especially for children. However, compared to original editions, the illustrations are poor quality, and crowded, and would not be attractive to children. This is a very good book with something for all ages, but poorly reproduced in this edition.

Simply the best and most enjoyable book ever written for children AND adults.

It appeals to a certain taste, not for children really, it goes on too long. Too much beat up the bad guys for me.

fun to revisit a childhood read

The Magic Pudding is an absolute delight, and the pictures are priceless. It's the story of a grouchy pudding that never diminishes no matter how much you eat it. The only problem is; there are "puddin' thieves' lurking about trying to steal the pudding for themselves. I found myself laughing out loud many times.
