    The Ambilight is the primary reason to buy and it's fully adjustable to provide a very pleasing immersive effect. The rest of the TV compares well to the competition.

    The Ambilight effect is very well synced to the screen and can be adjusted for the wall colour. It's a very pleasing backlight effect which really does enhance the viewing, and now looking at other TVs without it is disappointing. Ambilight surrounds your peripheral vision, making the TV seem much larger.

    The 4k picture quality is fine and HDR and Dolby vision enhance the titles that support them, mainly this means streaming Netflix or Amazon Video, which are already installed in the smart TV Android UI. The BBC iPlayer app doesn't seem to be fully supported however. We prefer the Fire TV 4k stick anyway, so not a big issue, and the TV remote works the fire TV stick, so it's quite convenient and means you can use just one remote.

    The remote itself is functional but not inspiring, but it does the job.

    Having bought the Android version of the TV, it's hard to see much advantage over Philps own OS, so if you are going to mainly use Fire TV stick, Android is well hidden and unless you want to install the (limited) number of apps it would be worth thinking about the cheaper Philips Ambilight TVs with Philips own OS. The only thing with mentioning on this however is that the Philips on board Netflix app picture quality seems even better than the already excellent Fire TV Netflix app, but it's so close as not to make much difference in practice. And this app may be just as good on the non Android version of the TV anyway. In the case of all picture sources, the picture quality is very good.

    The sound is okay, solid on all sources but not astounding, but many people might be using soundbars, or at least, that what the TV makers would like us to do. We use the onboard audio quite happily however, but it doesn't do the Dolby audio it's full justice.

    In summary this is a solid TV all round, but the unique Ambilight feature that makes this one i'd recommend to anyone. Our other TVs without Ambilight now look old fashioned. I've looked into getting aftermarket backlights for other TVs we have, but there is no substitute to do this as well or as elegantly. Philips have cornered the market I think here and to be fair it's a really worthwhile viewing upgrade to have in your life!

Mais ici on voit vraiment le travail de traitement d'image qui est bluffant pour du lcd. Menu fluide et stream depuis mon nas nickel. L'ambiligh est très chouette aussi. Un très bon produit connectique au top pour brancher console, pc, système audio... Je ne pensais pas avoir cette qualité pour ce prix. Couplé avec un fire tv stick 4k et alexa c'est tout bonheur.
