It's quite heavy, especially for a lens of this focal length. Hauling it around for a few hours will take it's toll, but you eventually acclimate to the heft - and the resulting images are worth it.

Sigma has made some big moves forward in their Art line now producing best in class lenses across many focal lengths.
I'm shooting on a mark 4 with a grip so it's pretty well balanced. I'm also a pretty big guy so the size doesn't bother me. I could see someone smaller or someone with a smaller camera body feeling that it was too heavy or too big.
Awesome clarity. Excellent build. Crazy shallow DOF if you open it up.
Works great for butterfly photography @ around f2.8 to f4.
Definitely not a walk-around or multi-purpose lens but if you have a specialty application such as environmental portraits and you have adequate room to work, this lens is great !!
Update: This lens also has interesting applications in product photography. Definitely recommended.
