Does this pocket microscope work on 3D (not flat) objects?
YES, but practice focusing and examining flat objects first.
A 3D object will work if placed near (but not inside) the bottom of microscope (clear part), but if you pre-focus the microscope on a flat object first, it will be much easier.
I'm looking at an object like a stamp and image is upside down / reversed. Is that right?
YES, most microscopes do this.
For handheld microscopes, the optical system flips and reverses the image, while magnifying it. This allows for an affordable and compact design. The microscope isn't broken, that's just how a pocket microscope works
What kind of things can I review with this microscope?
The MicroBrite can examine a diverse range of subjects, such as fabric, grass, sand, hair, skin, bugs, stamps or even a pineapple or worm! You can even observe larger microorganisms like bacteria, blood, germs, paramecium and euglena!
Can I use a smartphone with this microscope to take images and video?
The MM-300 version does not have a smartphone adapter, but you can buy the MM-310 adapter separate to work with it OR you can buy the MM-350 that comes with both the microscope and the smartphone adapter.
How do I get the best image when focusing with this portable microscope?
Always practice focusing on a flat object at the lowest power setting. Slowly turn the knob until you get close to seeing a focused image. Then turn the knob extremely slowly to get the perfect focus. Then up the power setting and slightly refocus.

I wanted to see more so I bought this 60x to 120x. I love that you can go from 60 to 120 via dial(?). I didn’t have a battery on hand so I have no idea how well the LED works, but I used my reading lamp at max brightness and it works! I love it! You can use the other dial to focus the lens and zoom in correctly to see the details. I use it to look at rocks I find interesting that I may or may not tumble. I am amazed it’s so great considering the price. For amateur rock hounding, I would suggest this! It really shows individual crystal structures and the teenie pieces of metal in the rocks. Rocks have way more detail zoomed in! Even at 60x it is very detailed. I would 100% suggest this over a jewelers loupe, just on the focus dial alone! At 120x it is harder to look at things and my eyelashes got in the way, the circle you look through sometimes eclipsed with dark, but with some use it gets easier to work with. Reminds me of labs in high school when we worked with microscopes! Except less cumbersome, and cheaper.
When I opened it, it was very small. But it's better that way, cause I can carry it in my pocket when I go to the park with the kid.
Awsome little microscope. Excellent for the price. Excellent by itself.
I bought this for my 10 year old son for Christmas 2023. It's now Jan 15th and the "honeymoon phase" has ended for some of the toys he got, but this portable microscope is still going strong! We've only tried it with stuff indoors, he doesn't even know how cool it is when microscopic life get involved. It's exciting, even for me, and since I homeschool him, this will be a very fun addition to science classes and projects.
I'm happy to say this was a great buy, definitely worth the 13 bucks.
