At Christmas I asked one of my friends why they had a ginormous coffee pot and they said it was an air fryer. Wait, what, like how they make my tater tots at subway or grill my sandwich at the deli. Wow now we have home use, I want one as I ponder what could I make. So there I was sitting at dinner a few nights ago thinking about how I could make a burger in the air fryer, or maybe some turkey and kale chips or even dessert. So my night started with a little research or more like Amazon did the research and I read the reviews and so I chose some unknown brand by Avalon Bay. I selected two day shipping and it arrived in time for me to make dinner.Make dinner huh? I never cook anything more than taking some leftovers and putting them in the microwave. But as they say go big or go home. So here goes the pound butterball turkey. I read online to defrost it, seems sensible and then read the interior should be 165. Whatever that means. So I followed the instructions, not to the letter but added thyme, salt, pepper, rosemary, paprika and some other herbs. I mixed in some olive oil and voila had an oily, smelly turkey. To tell you the truth I did not even know what all the seasonings were but I found them quite easily in my supermarket. So next I put the turkey in the air fryer following the instructions. 350 degrees; 20 on top, 8 on each side and then add the maple, butter and mustard mix and wait another 5 min.Well if I could give this unit 10 stars on the looks of the turkey when it was done I would but who cares about looks. You gotta know how it tastes. So remember when I saw the direction at 165. Well who has a thermometer. I have the human type so that is what I used, btw it does not go to 165 but my friendly neighbor let me borrow hers. Bam. 168. Perfecto!I shared my turkey with my family and they loved it. I was told I should cook more often. I was not done there though, I made kale chips. 300 degrees for 2-3 minutes.Well I do not know what I will make next but whatever it is it will be great. I love the touchscreen. You can change the time, temperature and even set options such as potatoes, fish or chicken. What is even better is you can take out the food to check in and put it back in and it who'll start where it left off. Additionally it comes with a dishwasher safe pan and oil catcher that easily detached from the handle. I also like the small casserole pan and elevated grill grate. All in all this is the air fryer you want. Now go get it!

When I ordered this product I was cautiously optimistic based on the reviews I had seen and hoped it lived up to the good reviews. I was pleasantly surprised that it met and exceeded my expectations. Besides the cool looking design, it is so easy to clean, easy to handle, easy to program and cooks quickly. But the most important and best part is how well it cooks. I have used it to cook chicken wings, chicken breasts, french fries, etc. I've reheated pizza in it, pulled pork, pizza bites and more. There hasn't been anything I have put in there that hasn't tasted great. The french fries were amazing! I love deep frying chicken wings and although it wasn't exactly the same through the air fryer, it is pretty darn close. Considering how much healthier it is in the air fryer and how great it tasted, I will be doing it again

Another thing I love is how easy it is to use and so much less mess and clean up then frying or grilling. You put the food in the basket, set the timer and the temp and let it go. Another thing is it's so quiet. It's actually quieter than our microwave. If I have one complaint it's that the timer sound could be a little louder when it hits zero. Also, it stops cooking when the timer hits zero so you don't overcook the food if you don't hear the timer go off or you walked away for a moment.

To summarize, I highly recommend this product. Oh yea, one more thing at a bit more than $100 it's well worth it! Oops also, almost forgot to mention you can cook up to 3.2 lbs of food, so it's got lots of room.

This air fryer is AWESOME. Popcorn chicken, lumpia, fish sticks, french fries, mini corn dogs! Without heating up the house or using up a bucket of oil! And it's healthier than deep frying! Cooking lunch for the kids this summer will be so much better. Super glad I bought this!

UPDATE: Sudden failure of the basket latch. I received this March 15 and by April 26, the basket latch button got stuck, causing the bottom of the air fryer, hot and with oil drippings in it, to fall at my feet. I was lucky not to be burned or injured. The latch button keeps getting randomly stuck now, so it is too dangerous to use. Amazon allowed me to return it... I am bummed because I really liked the air fryer, but I can't buy another of this same model after it began failing within a month and a half of purchase.

I've got to say this thing makes the best chicken wings. I'm a long time hot wing fan. Problem is in my house I do not have range vent over my stove. So everytime I fry anything (even pan fry) the house fills with smoke, smole detectors are going off, and the neighbors laugh at me. I love the fact that this is greaseless. No more worries about adding frozen chicken to the deep fryer and watch hot grease overflow onto your counters and floors. Plus you no longer have to wipe dropplets off the upper cabinets either. Plus grease takes 15-20min to heat up. This appliance takes 3-5min. That alone is worth its weight in gold. I had been using an oven to bake my wings as a healthier alternative but it takes a solid hour to cook and no matter what I did they'd still manage to stick to the cookie sheet/aluminum foil. This appliance truly is a non stick when I can pull chicken wings out after 30min and I'm not prying them off and ripping them apart.I've also made mini pizzas in it. The centers dont seem to be as cooked as the edges but it is still very good. Frozen mozzarella sticks are also easy to whip up in under 10min. I served some up to my brother when he stopped by one day. He was pretty surpised that these could taste so good and not be deep fried. I plan on taking this to my moms this Christmas so we can have jalapeño poppers and mozzarella stickers as appetizers. The one thing I would say needs to be imprroved is the interface on the unit. It's a little too easy hit a button an accidently reset the settings you were plugging in. That and the option for a persistent timer beep for those of us who get distracted and are in the other room. Still a great product!

Not long after this review the coating on the basket started coming off into my food. Not exactly healthy or appetizing. It was nice while it lasted but the coating on the basket was bubbling up all over the bottom and then chipping off. After that the exposed metal began to rust. I contacted the manufacturer about it who stated they would send me a replacement basket but they never followed through. I ended up returning it to amazon before the 30 days were up.

I bought this Air Fryer because I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to a similar product I saw on late night TV. It arrived and initially operated as described. It is sleek, functional and met my needs. The one immediate drawback was the instruction booklet that came with the unit did not correspond with the fryer. This model has options with preset times and temperatures, but the booklet did not list the times and temps for each option. Honestly though, that is a small inconvenience as it is easy to set the time and temp you desire. I was pleasantly surprised that my wife and child took to using it for quick snacks like hot dogs and grilled cheese sandwiches. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this item because just a few weeks after we started using it, the mechanism that keeps the fryer pan and the bowl which collects the drippings connected stopped working. I think the breakage happened in the dish washer but I cannot say for sure. Either way, while I still use it, I have told my child not to as the heated parts can easily separate and cause harm.
