Published in 1942 by the US Government Printing Office in the midst of WWII, this bible was distributed to service men of the army and navy. It has four sections: Protestant, Catholic, Jewish and Hymns wherein positions and prayers of each faith are followed. The bulk of the book is of course hymns. Also included: Index of Authors, Translators and Sources, Index of Composers and Sources, Metrical Index of Tunes, Alphabetical Index of Tunes and Index of First Lines. Various familiar prayers are printed on both e.p. B&w drawings illustrate the Way of the Cross. All edges are burgundy.

The copy I received was as advertised. The only repair needed, due to normal wear over the years of use since published, was tear of paper that attached the hard cover to the book inside front and back. Repair will be easy with adhesive tape. No problem. Delivery was in a timely manner. By the way While in service during WW2 the only color of the covers of this hymnal I saw were all maroon. I was a little surprised to see this one was a light brown, again no problem. Have a good day and be blessed.
