Made from durable stoneware, the dish features a hard-wearing, impermeable finish fired at temperatures as high as 2192 degrees F. With a porosity level of less than 1 percent, the baker blocks moisture absorption, so there's no chipping, cracking, crazing, or rippling along the interior to worry about. Its non-porous construction also resists odors, scratching, and staining for hygienic use and optimal cooking performance. Even more, its high-quality enamel protects against metal marks and other damage, which means it's safe for cutting on with knives. Best of all, the colorful glaze on the exterior makes the dish fun to mix and match with other coordinating Le Creuset pieces (sold separately), while a neutral-colored glaze on the inside offers a pleasing contrast and an optimal palette for food presentation. And thanks to its unmatched thermal resistance from -65 degrees F to 500 degrees F, the dish moves gracefully from the microwave or oven (or under the broiler) to the table for serving to the refrigerator or freezer for storing leftovers. I oredered this as a gift for my sister. She said she didn't bother opening it, because she could hear the broken pieces. She sent it back, no problem. UPS said it was not them (outside packing was fine), that the company did not pack properly, esp. for ceramic. I am disappionted that a gift had to be returned.

It's larger than the standard sized lasagna pans! Bakes great and is so easy to clean, not to mention that it looks great. If you're going to be using it a lot it's worth it.

I HAVE BEEN MAKING LASAGNA FOR YEARS AND MY VERY BEST RESULTS WERE FROM USING LE CREUSET. IT DISTRIBUTES HEAT SO EVENLY THAT THE CHEESE ON TOP WAS A BREATHTAKING SIGHT- PERFECTLY BROWNED, EVENLY FROM SIDE TO SIDE, NO BURNED EDGES, AND THE INSIDE OF THE LASAGNA WAS PERFECTLY COOKED - NOT COLD OR OF A DIFFERENT TEMPERATURE, AND TO TOP IT OFF, WHEN I WAS DONE, ALL I HAD TO DO WAS RINSE IT UNDER THE FAUCET AND ALL THE FOOD SLID RIGHT OFF! NO MUSCLE NEEDED TO CLEAN THIS BABY!
