The Casio CTK-3000 is an affordable instrument with a 61 Key Piano Style Touch Sensitive Keyboard, 400 total onboard Tones, 150 Rhythms and Digital Effects. Packed with great features such as Casio's famous Step-up Lesson System, audio inputs for a MP3 player, USB port for MIDI implementation and a pitch wheel for additional expression over sounds. All this makes CTK-3000 more realistic and expressive than ever before at this price range. An affordable, full-featured portable keyboard. Click to enlarge. Standard-Size Keys with Touch Response The CTK-3000 features 61 standard-size keys and two sensitivity levels for a more piano-like experience, along with 48-note polyphony (24-note for certain tones). 400 Built-In Tones Find just the right sound with 400 built-in tones, and select from ten different reverb settings to add depth. USB Port For many musicians, the computer has become a music-making center. Connect the CTK-3000 to a computer using a USB cable and exchange MIDI data between the two devices. Send play data from the keyboard to music software running on your computer, or send MIDI data from your computer to the keyboard for playback. Built-In Sampling You can use the CTK-3000 to sample a sound from a portable audio player or other device, and then play the sound with keyboard keys. For example, you could sample the bark of your dog and then use the sound in a melody, or grab passages from a CD. The sampling feature is a fun way to create new sounds. Note: Samples are not stored permanently. Turning off power will cause any sampled sound data on the keyboard to be deleted. Internal speakers and battery-powering option for full portability. 110 Built-In Songs With Step Up Lessons The CTK-3000 comes with a bank of songs for your learning and enjoyment, from classics like "Greensleeves" or "Auld Lang Syne" to holiday tunes like "Jingle Bells." To master a song, it is best to break it up into shorter parts (phrases), master the phrases, and then put everything together. The CTK-3000 features a "Step Up Lesson" feature that helps you to do just that. The built-in songs are pre-divided into phrases to help you master keyboard play. Step Up Lesson takes you through practice of the right hand part, left hand part, and both hand parts for each phrase of a song. Master all of the phrases and you master the song. Music Challenge Keyboard Game Music Challenge is a game that measures your reaction speed as you press keys in response to on-screen keyboard indicators and fingering guide indications. Auto Accompaniment Simply specify a chord and the keyboard automatically produces the matching rhythm, bass, and chord patters. One-touch fill-ins make accompaniments sound interesting and natural. 150 built in auto-accompaniment rhythm patterns. Transpose Function An easy operation instantly changes the key of the keyboard. Audio Input Play along with MP3 or CD players or other devices by plugging them into the stereo mini input jack. Battery or AC Power Power the CTK-3000 with six AA-sized batteries (approximately four hours of continuous operation with alkaline batteries) or purchase the AD-5 AC adapter separately to power from your electrical outlets. Built-in speakers make the keyboard entirely portable. An Auto Power Off feature turns off the device six minutes after the last key is touched, helping you save batteries. What's in the Box: CTK-3000 Keyboard, Music Stand, Song Book, Safety Precautions, Appendix, Warranty

Exelent Keyboard, sound gread, easy to use, funtion as Midi controller (on windows).

    But some considerations before buy:
    - It's a Keyboard, not a piano. (keys are plastic and very diferent than a Real Piano keys, because the real are too much heavy)
    - Touch sensitive is ok and you can modifi sensitive for two levels. (one for adult people and two for children or off) but NOT like a Real Piano
    - SOME MAC LIMITATIONS (Read description if you have a mac) and you are thinking... (think diferent... WTF!!)
    - AC adaptor NOT INCLUDED, (you must buy separated) and BE CAREFUL WHIT POLARITY!!! the keyboard says Positive Outside, Negative inside!!!! VERY VERY CAREFULLL!!!
    - If you want take piano lesson DONT BUY IT, Just BUY A REAL PIANO.
    - If you wan a Keyboard that sound like a piano an many others instrument and effecs BUY IT!!!
    - The Box include:
    -The Keyboard
    -The manual
    -The Song Book
-The Music Stand (litle tube to put your song book)

ANY WIRE IS NOT INCLUDED (NOT USB WIRE)
    Suport or Table NOT INCLUDED
    AC Adaptor NOT INCLUDED
    Bateries NOT INCLUDED
NOT OLD MIDI CONECTOR, ONLY BY USB IN WINDOWS!!!

The Keyboard does NOT include the stand, headphones or power-supply, as is pictured. DON'T order this thinking you might receive these items. I just spent 35 minutes on the phone arguing why I should get the items. It didn't work. And I now have two keyboards without the accessories.

I bought this keyboard with the sole purpose of using it with my piano/keyboard learning software just to find out that Casio products are not MIDI capable with most Windows OS's. Other than that it was a nice keyboard, it just bothers me that it advertises MIDI capabilities but is very limited when it comes to this. I have also read about people having problems using this keyboard with Mac.

Got this for Christmas when I picked my piano playing up again. The main reason I picked it was because it had touch sensitive keys (though not weighted), there's a difference between touch sensitive and weighted. Piano's have weighted keys and the high end 700 and up keyboards have weighted keys.

I did not want to spend more than $150 (hehe) because I am no music major or performer, it's just something quick when I get the urge to play some music.

The sound for me was good enough there are many many tones to mess around with, and there is a pitch bend wheel which is also cool. I havent tried making beats on it but if am not mistaken some one on youtube used this keyboard to make beats so I think it is possible.

The keyboard is also reeaalllyyyy light! which is awesome when I am moving it around the house. It also looks pretty nice. Although I don't like the music stand it comes with, it's one of those that's basically just the frame, so when I put sheets of music on it, the sheets flop around, bend through the hole and fall, which is annoying.
This keyboard is probably the best in the price range.
I think it is only good for beginners though for an intermediate to pro player you'll want more than 61 keys and something with more accurate sound, this is good but not amazing. Still I love it and will definitely be keeping it for sometime.
Also if you do not buy the amazon package it does not come with an adapter, you have to buy that separately.

This little Casio is touch sensitive. It has really been a nice keyboard for my piano instruction. The voices are not as good as you would hear on more sophisticated keyboards, but they are good enough. The keyboard has a metronome and learning system. It also will switch so that they player can put chord accompaniment to a tune. The one thing I like most about this keyboard is that it is so light you can take it upstairs, downstairs or just put it on your lap. For my instruction purposes, this is great! If I need to accompany a student, this is a great little instrument to put on my lap and play along with the student. One other thing, it hooks right up to your computer and you can use it as an economical midi. I've got an Imac and Garage Band works very well with this little keyboard.

When I ordered I thought it was a package deal. It was not, and Musicians "Friend" doesn't seem to care. I will never order from them again.

Same night a manager from Musicians Friend contacted me and sent out the rest of the package. Late and a bit of a run around, but i will call them "friend" again.

For the money this is a great keyboard. Great sound, totally compatible with computer programs, and full of hundreds of tones and rhythms. The only thing that I would warn potential buyers about is it doesn't come with an ac adapter or power cord so you'll have to buy one of those on your own. Not a huge deal, but a bummer if you're waiting for an instrument and then get it and can't turn it on.

When I purchased this, I also bought the usb midi cable converter, assuming that it would be compatible with the keyboard. When they had arrived, I opened the package and tried to hook everything up, later realizing that the usb prot on the keyboard is square, and the usb midi cable converter is circular. So if you're going to be hooking up your keyboard to the computer, you want a type b printer cable. Other than that problem, I definetely feel this is a pretty decent keyboard for its price.
