Creates an Air-Tight SealThe jar sealer works with any FoodSaver vacuum sealing system (machine not included). Simply connect one end of the jar sealer to the machine's accessory port and the white, round-shaped end to the top of a lidded Mason jar, so that it fits securely over the screwed-on lid. With the push of a button, the system quickly extracts all the air from inside the jar, pulling it out through the flexible tubing to form an air-tight seal. |
Easy to UseThe FoodSaver jar sealer works well for safely storing strawberry and blackberry jams, chocolate sauces, hot mustards, and other liquids and fragile foods. It's equally effective for storing dry foods like brown sugar, aromatic spices, dried fruit, and baking flour. |
BPA-Free and Dishwasher-Safe DesignThe jar sealer ensures convenient, reliable performance from one use to the next. Made with BPA-free plastic, the wide-mouth jar sealer is odour-proof, stain-resistant, and easy to clean by hand or in the dishwasher. Once you are done using your Mason Jar for vacuum sealing, just remove the jar sealer and place the ring band back to use the jar as you normally would do. |

Creates an Air-Tight Seal

The handy one-piece attachment fits on pint- and quart-size, wide-mouth, Ball and Kerr Mason jars to create an effective vacuum seal that locks out air, sealing freshness in. Re-seal those handy food-storage jars again and again, using a standard Mason jar lid and the FoodSaver jar sealer.
Easy to Use
The jar sealer works with any FoodSaver vacuum sealing system (machine not included).
Ideal for Liquid and Dry Storage Alike
Though not to be used as a replacement for traditional canning methods, the FoodSaver wide-mouth jar sealer works well for safely storing strawberry and blackberry jams, chocolate sauces, hot mustards, and other liquids and fragile foods. It's equally effective for storing dry foods like brown sugar, aromatic spices, dried fruit, and baking flour.

BPA-Free and Dishwasher-Safe Design

For those who cook large quantities of food, FoodSaver vacuum packaging systems offer excellent protection against food spoilage and freezer burn. This jar sealer attachment fits on wide-mouth mason jars and is for use with any FoodSaver machine that has an accessory port. The top forms a tight seal on mason jars while the tubing removes air from the jar with the help of a FoodSaver machine. The jar sealer works equally as well in packaging liquid foods, such as jams or chocolate sauces, as it does for dry goods, such as brown sugar or spices. While vacuum packaging is not a substitute for traditional canning methods, it does keep food fresh three to five times longer than keeping it in a plastic food storage container in the refrigerator. Plastic air tube not included. --Cristina Vaamonde

I thought about sending it back but I had jars to seal, I am very impatient and my husband is handy so... he cut off the hard plastic end piece on one side which just left the tube. He forced that onto the inner (bag sealer) suction tube and then it worked like a charm ! Even the regular mouth lids !
Then I couldn't get it off to put away my vacuum sealer lol. Ok so I don't know the right terms for what my hubby bought at the hardware store but basically he bought the next size up in tubing plus a little connector that allows you to push together the different sized tubing. That gave me just a smidge larger diameter at the end. With a lighter to soften the tube up and a little muscle my dear husband worked that tube end onto the inner suction piece, shaped it, let it cool/harden and voila ! It comes off and on very easily now with no chance of my breaking it off.
I don't think I should have had to go thru this for almost 30 dollars but the truth is these attachments were made for another brand of food sealer. And I cannot track down the proper ones for the NESCO. On the plus side, since the hard plastic piece we cut off is exactly the same as the piece on the other end (the part that plugs into the attachment once you've seated it on your jar), we now have two or a tube for each attachment - the wide mouth & the regular.
I have used this multiple times now and it works beautifully although that credit goes to my honey. But if you have a NESCO brand vacuum sealer and you're handy or have someone who can help you out, by all means, go for it. I'm thrilled to have this jar sealer ! I don't have to mess around with OAs all the time. At least not for jars I'm going to want to get in and out of regularly. And there isn't any guessing when you should stop it, it stops by itself when it's done.
It worked out amazingly for some 'soup in a jar' gifts I made. I highly recommend it
I thought of creating this video for all of those who have several doubts in their mind before purchasing this product (Note: Video doesn't have audio).
I know this because I had several doubts in my mind, like;
-Which jars are suitable for this sealer and does it really work?
Answer: Mason Jars are suitable for this sealer. I am using Ball Mason Jars (Pint size) and they work great with this sealer.
-Will it work for moist/wet items including liquids?
Answer: Yes it does work for moist and wet items like prepared pasta or any type of sauce. I haven't tried liquids but it should work.
-Can I remove it once fixed on the Jar or I have to purchase one per each Jar?
Answer: Yes, you can remove the sealer from mason jars once sealed like shown in the video. This is the great thing I liked about this product. Food saver cum money saver.
-Which jar to buy and where? And will it cost me more as the FoodSaver bags?
Answer: Any mason jar should be good according to the type of mouth. But Ball Mason Jar works for me. They are available on Amazon but I got it from Walmart. I got pint sized wide mouth jars, a pack of 12 for $8.5.
-What is Regular mouth and Wide mouth sealers and are jars available in these type of mouths?
Answer: Two types of mason jars are available in the market which are compatible with these sealers. Though keep in mind this review is for Wide-mouth jar sealer. So if you have purchased wide mouth jar sealers you will need wide mouth mason jars and for regular mouth jars purchase the regular mouth sealer.
-Are jars and lids/bands reusable?
Yes, all components are reusable. That's the great thing about Mason jars and this sealer.
-How much is a Pint or a Quart?
1 Pint = 16oz = 0.47 liters
1 Quart = 32oz = 2Pint = 0.95 liters
-How can I know that the jar is really vacuumed?
When you place the lid on the jar and then vacuum it using this sealer, vacuum pressure is generated within the sealer and it sucks all the air out (also from the jar and the area above the lid) and so it tightens the seal firmly over the jar. At this moment if you remove the tube from the sealer you would hear a sound, this is because the air enter the hole immediately as soon as you remove the tube. Try pulling the lid and you may have to apply force to remove it. This indicates the jar has been vacuum sealed.
-How to remove the lid once it's sealed tight and frozen?
If you have frozen contents in the vacuumed jar sometimes it would be difficult for you to open the lid. There are chances that you may damage the lid. To avoid this either keep the jar in warm water for few minutes or hold the jar under hot water tap for few seconds. Hurray... enjoy your food :). Though be careful while holding the jar under hot water as you don't want yourself to get any burns.
This product is a must buy as FoodSaver bags are expensive and cannot hold wet/moist items (like sauce or wet pasta). Hope this helps.
Note: I am using it since couple of weeks now, so do not forget to read the user manuals and use your vacuum machine accordingly. I created this video to clear doubts in people's mind so that they can purchase this product willingly.
Cheers...

I am very pleased with this product. I have stored Pasta, Thai Curries, Asian Curries and also Indian Curries in Mason jars using this sealer. They taste almost the same even after 5 to 6 weeks. Saves hell lot of money but also time which is the important. I never thought I would use my vacuum system the way am using it currently. Even you can prepare soup and store it for several weeks/months. Though keep in mind that most of the product after vacuuming needs refrigeration. So place it according to the items suggested in your vacuum system manual. I wonder how people can give 1 star for such an amazing product. I am loving it.
