Great for cutting through would be fire wood. Extremely light weight and compact and can be carried easily inside or outside a backpack. Makes processing fire wood less energy consuming. The only thing I did not like and demand improvement is on the tension knob. The tension knob is too small and not easy to turn tightly. I experienced this after my hands and fingers had a good workout processing firewood. Due to my loss of strenght on my hands I was unable to tension the blade tightly and the blade would come off as I sawed through wood. Perhaps a larger removable knob that would allow the use of most of ones hand would solve the problem. Other than that great tool for the outdoors. One more thing. Maybe a trailbrlazer sawvivor with a 15" blade would be better, since I noticed my 18" blade bend somewhat as I sawed throgh fire wood.
This is one neat little saw!! I have personally been able to saw 8 inch diameter log without any problems. The blade is sharp and works very well. Its compact and lightweight. After much research, this is the one I decided to get and I'm not displeased!!
This one I bought for a gift for someone else. But i've had the same thing for almost 10 years now and its my go-to saw for taking care of trees, etc. I live on a 9 acre horse farm and it gets a lot of use. Takes up little space and holds up for the long term. Definitely something you need in your "kit".
Sawvivor is great for an easy backpacking tool I saw a YouTube review video by nutnfancy using this saw so I decided to give it a try glad I did, it folds for a compact stow away and is lite weight enough for a carry tool on a camping trip
