Very Nice instrument

I have bought 2 of these Ukes and love them. If you play Uke, you will want one of these. Trust me. My only gripe is the quarter inch jack going into the uke (on both of the two ukes I have bought I have had the same problem), becomes loose after a while and I have had to take it to guitar tech and have washers put on to tighten and hold in place. Also,no bag or case somes with this which is problematic in that the headstock is so big, most conventional Uke cases are too small. Don't buy a Uke case for this instrument online and think it will fit. Take the uke to a music store ( a big music store with losts of uke cases) and be sure whatever you get fits.

Great instrument for the price

This was my second uke purchase when I decided to upgrade from a cheap starter. I was looking for something different, and settled on a tenor 8-string.

Fresh out of the box, the instrument looked great. The packing left a little something to be desired, but the product arrived without any damage. After an arduous tuning process (to be expected with nylon strings) I had the instrument sounding as good as it looked. The instrument comes stringed with Aquila Nylgut strings, so there was no need to immediately swap out cheap strings. It has a loud acoustic sound and excellent sustain. Loud enough, in fact, that it overcame loud sounds on the back working deck of a ship at sea. The instrument is also sturdy enough to stand a few bumps here and there without damage.

The active pickup installed in it does a great job amplifying the natural sound of the uke without distorting it too much or making it sound too electronic. It also does a great job of only picking up the sound of the strings and soundboard, not any scraping or percussion from your strumming or from holding it against your chest.

All in all, it's a great instrument for the price. It's not going to be confused with a $500 uke, but it can sure hold its own with the best of them.
