Top reviews from the United States

I am writing due to the piece of crap Cabrio we purchased exactly 4 years ago this week:
This was the review I wrote after having this piece of crap one month:
I bought the Cabrio on 10/9/06 and by 10/23/06 it was not working properly. I contacted Whirlpool on 11/9/06 and they informed me that they needed to send a repairman out. It has several problems. The load is out of balance (UL) or I get an error "F51" every single time I try to wash a load. My husband and I are the only ones in our household so the machine is not abused (By teenagers etc). The repairman was at our house for 3 1/2 hours on 11/14/06. He ordered a wiring harness, a computer board and a censor for this 1 MONTH OLD MACHINE. I called Whirlpool in frustation simply asking them to take this LEMON back. They offered nothing and they were quite rude in the process. They said my only option was to have my machine repaired....and so the circle begins.
Our last set was a Maytag and we had the set (still are using the dryer) for over 12 years. Boy how we regret going to Whirlpool. Please take my advice and SAVE YOUR MONEY. I would hate for anyone to go through what Whirlpool has put us through.
BTW...my BRAND NEW machine is sitting idle until the repairman can come out IN A WEEK (for another 3 1/2 hours) to put in these parts that he HOPES will work.
UPDATE:
It is now exactly 4 years later and the only reason I suffer with this machine is due to the fact we PAID SOOOO MUCH MONEY FOR IT!!
The front is now rusted out!!! YES, RUSTED OUT!! And, it takes me about a day to wash ONE LOAD of Laundry...I get an "F1" (I believe it should be FU) about 4 times at the beginning of a load and then when it goes to rinse I get an F1 again approximately 3 times!! Sometimes I have to start from scratch with an entirely different setting.
The only satisfaction I've gotten over the past 4 years is writing horrible reviews on your product and making sure everyone I talk to about laundry (and it's a lot more times than any normal person should have to talk about laundry!!) how they should NEVER spend a dime on a whirlpool!
This is an absolute piece of crap and I cannot believe you have never done a thing to rectify this situation!!
So sad that you could have and should have taken care of this FOUR YEARS Ago!
When my husband calls your useless 800 number he just gets sent around in a big circle and then is told you are CLOSED.
I will never buy another Whirl pool product as long as I live!!
Please do something about this piece of crap taking up space in my laundry room and BEEPING at me ALL DAY LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alright, it may not be the best, but at least it gets the job done. I have had both the Cabrio washer and dryer for a little bit over a year and it has not had many problems. It has only stopped working at least once, but that was only because of my 14 year old son placing about 20-30 pounds of laundry inside. After taking the stuff out and letting it run for a while ith nothing insde, it began to work like it did before and it has been that way since. It's a washer and it washes clothes and I am happy with it.

I first looked at this washing machine (actually the WTW 7300) due to a very good rating from Consumer's Guide. I also checked the reviews on various sites and they were mostly good but also had some very bad reviews. It was pretty confusing on which way to go. I couldn't find anything better so I decided to take a chance. One thing that did sway us was our repairman told us he thought highly of Whirlpool and did not have many calls for them.

We did read that problems could occur if you used the maximum spin speed so we have only used the medium spin speed.

We have owned the washing machine for 5 months so far and have run over 200 loads in it (yes, that is high but we have 4 active kids). So far, the washing machine has performed perfectly. It cleans clothes well and dries them nicely during the spin cycle. It is fairly quiet but the run cycle is fairly long (45-55 minutes). Otherwise, no complaints. I will write another review update at about the one year mark.

We purchased this washer and matching dryer after our 9-year-old washer that was already bouncing all over for a couple of years had the sensor go and over-filled spilling water all over our floor (which it had ripped the vinyl previously, so water got under and had to have the floor replaced).

I read several reviews, but found it was just like when I wanted to purchase a new mattress. Nothing really got an awesome review. People either loved it or hated it, so I knew I couldn't go by reviews alone. There was a great sale on the items when we needed them, and we talked at length to the salesman. So glad we purchased them and didn't listen to the negative reviews!

It may be that the people who didn't like them are used to high efficiency washers and just want more bells and whistles. We were going from a 9-year-old machine that ruined our floor and bounced all over when it frequently became imbalanced, to this wonderful new machine. We love that it barely uses any water compared to the old machine. Love the different settings. It knows what is best for different loads and I don't have to think about it. It has a great capacity. What would've taken me two loads can now be done in one. Someone complained that it has longer wash cycles. The whites are a really long cycle, but it makes sense, since they usually need more sanitizing being your sensitive articles (underwear). I don't mind that some cycles are longer when I get the equivalent of two loads at one time.

To me, some people are just highly critical. I love these machines. They do the job well and I really don't need more bells and
whistles. Capacity is important to me, and they do a great job with that too. And another good thing that the salesman noted, they are made in the USA (I believe in Ohio). So if you do have trouble, it will be a lot easier than dealing with a manufacturer whose parts are out of the country.
