Jamie Wright has written a excellent book on the benefits of coconut oil. In this book you will learn things like how coconut oil lowers bad cholesterol and how it fights viral infections. Jamie Wright makes a convincing argument for switching to coconut oil for cooking. Everything she says in this book is not pretty and some of the information might shock you into reality. This book contains information on the real cause of artery blockage which might surprise you. After reading this book you might start adding coconut milk to your coffee and tea or add coconut oil to smoothies. The information in "The Coconut Oil Handbook" is really interesting and might even change your life. At least I feel I will be healthier by following some of the advice in this book.

I read this book in one sitting. Let me begin by saying that I am a 62 year old retired medical scientist. The information and references contained in this book rang true with my professional training. I thought that it was my imagination regarding my feet though. While visiting my cardiologist, I expressed concern about my recent weight gain. He recommended that I begin to eat the food that my grand parents ate. If the food became available within the last 100 years, I was too avoid eating it. Well I became dedicated to researching my food choices.

In the process, I came across Beyond Diet.com. I shared the plan with my doctor and he endorsed it. Well the plan focuses on detoxing the body while making healthy food choices, including the use of virgin, unrefined coconut oil! I decided to start taking detox baths followed with body oil massage using COCONUT OIL. Within one week, I noticed my feet were soft and supple! I thought it was temporary. But I noticed that not only my feet but my face, knees and elbows all looked younger and more vibrant. I have since thrown out chemical tooth paste and deodorant. I now use coconut oil and baking soda.

This is a wonderful, very well-written book. Worth every penny!

I scanned through this book pretty fast. It has some good information and uses that were new to me. I was expecting to find more uses, like I find it comforts a stomach ache due to aspirin or ibuprofen use if not taken with enough food. But that might be construed as medical advice or the author was UN aware of it. I discovered that on my own after I took Advil then a call distracted me too long before I could protect my stomach. Nothing helped the pain, not even charcoal. Finally I ate 2T coconut oil and the pain went away

I started reading this book after deciding to use the virgin coconut oil that I have in my fridge. I am currently on a new lifestyle diet and was wondering whether virgin coconut oil was considered a healthy oil. My lifestyle diet requires that I use two tsps of a healthy oil a day. After reading this book, I want to put virgin coconut oil on everything! I have already started using it and have already recommended this book to my sister, who's also changing her diet.

the book was very easy to read and I am excited about adopting some of its holistic approach to my diet. I will post a better review once I have had more time to see the benefits of using coconut oil in my diet.

I love coconut and eat it often, to be able to use it for a specific reason is great to know...

It's OK. Was knowledgeable in some aspects but didn't really set out a proper plan as to what to do with coconut oil to decrease your cholesterol or how to use it for weight loss.

My Edit 7/14/20: Idk why the "sensitivity filter" is hiding my review here😠?? My review was brief, yes, but short and to the point! I use this handbook ALL the time, STILL! Coconut Mama did a great job with it as she has also done with recipes that I receive from her in my email! @Amazon, please "unhide" my review as there is nothing "sensitive" about it!

I had already read most if not all of this online at various websites. Having it all in one place will save me some time since I don't have to search for the information again. I'm giving this book a 4 star rating because it doesn't spend enough time on ways to use coconut oil. It covers a lot about what coconut oil may do for you but is lacking in the how to get it done section, only two full pages and a couple of suggestions scattered throughout the book. So if you already know you want to add coconut oil to your diet and why, you may want to buy a coconut oil cookbook. If you are looking for a coconut oil reference this is a handy guide.

Lots of things you never knew about coconut oil and how good it is for you, and how you can use it - although it doesn't include my recipie - mix coconut oil, icing sugar & dessicated coconut to make a good substitute for Coconut Ice!
