This book was a great read! It has all you love about The Spy Series, and historical romance in general, while adding the twist of not being based in the UK! It was different reading a historical romance that wasn't based around balls, carriage rides in the park, horseback riding through the highlands, etc. Different, but still a fantastic change of pace. I recommend this to anyone who loves historical romance with a side of danger and intrigue!

The Spy Series I read all 4 books of the Spy Series and loved them all. I could not put them down. Jessie Clever is a wonderful writer of Romance and suspense . Her Love Scenes are in good taste and not overdone . I am waiting for the 5th. book to come out this summer " To save a Viscount' and looking forward to more of her books. I love series where the stories don't end with one book only and this one was one of the best I read.

I really liked the first book from this writer, but it has gone downhill since then. This one is full of chattiness leading nowhere and an almost total lack of story, and what there is feels almost without purpose, just leading back to where the story started without accomplishing anything. That might work if it is well written, but nah, mostly boring. Besides, why is the heroine saddled with a meaningless and inaccurate title? The British titles are complicated, but as I understand, she would have to be married to an earl to be titled countess. As the wife of a peer she would be known by everyone, so it would be a worthless cover for a spy.
