This is the second time to read this book and I love it both times! I read the first book and fell in love with Duncan and Samuel. Waited for Lauren Burd to finish this book. And I was not disappointed it was better than the first one! Now that the third book is out I had to read the first two over again and I love this book even more. It has everything I love to read about. Vampires ( ok virus infection) , love, action, suspense, love hate triangle. I hated the very last ending. But once again I loved this book.

Much like Immortal, Forever was eminently readable. I got sucked in and read the whole thing in one or two sessions while I was supposed to be doing other things, like sleeping. I liked Forever better than Immortal, I believe, not in the least because things happen in it. There are dramatic escapes and plot twists, and we even find out why Alina is special. Which explains why Duncan is interested in her, but we never do get a reason that Samuel likes her so much. I chalk it up to narrative necessity.

I had some issues with the believability of some of the plot twists. At certain points in the story, Duncan and other characters do things which demonstrate that they are untrustworthy. So the reader gets to thinking that he or she knows who the bad guys are. Then suddenly one of these villains shows up and explains that they had these secret motives for their unspeakable actions and that they are really not evil. Which is great and everything, except that the only thing that supports the new story is the story itself. And, as we have already established, the villains are untrustworthy. So I'm kind of expecting a triple cross to come, but I'm not sure that the series has that level of depth.

I'm also really unsure what the role of Alina's mother is. We establish early in the first one that she is a horrible person with no redeeming characteristics, and there is a large portion of Forever dedicated to her issues. It's not that what happens isn't plot relevant. It's just that a lot of the details are extraneous and are unlikely to gain relevance in the third novel.

But, overall, it's a good story. It's readable. It's compelling. It's a solid four-star novel. So if that works for you, and you liked the first one, go right ahead and read the second. And then join me in awaiting the third.

Just when you think you know who's who and what's what you get thrown a curveball. I could never quite figure out Duncan, glad his side was finally explained. Happy to see samuel and Alina together but she really needs to her feelings in check and quit giving in to temptation. Definitely didn't see those loses coming towards the end. A lot of stuff goes down in this book, pasts are revealed and secrets unfold. I cant wait to read the next one and see what else is in store for this group.

Finished this last night, read it in one evening. I was a little dissapointed in the story line. ** Possible Spoiler Alert***I was excited after reading the first chapter at the end of Immortal but after their escape from Alianas room, it was very strained reading. Aliana seemed really dumb by asking over and over how are we going to get out of here but she got less irritating in the following chapters. I would have liked more 'romance' between Aliana and Sammuel but I guess there wasn't much in the first book either. Her back and forth emotions between the two men really bother me. I was glad that the sex was implied and not descriptive although I would have liked it to have not happened at all. There seemed to be a lot of past history information that I guess will be needed in the next book but had me re-reading names to keep everyone straight. Over all it was an ok book. I will re read the first and then this one again to see if I get a better feeling. Will read the next to find out the outcome. Hopefully Sammuel will become more romantic and sweep Alaina off her feet and stop being so quiet and moody.

I. Have been checking everyday since I read immortal. The fact that I'm a very active reader and live on kindle contributed to my addiction in this series. Forever was just as great as I hoped it would be however, it was shorter than expected. There has been no mention of a third book which as a fan is very dissapointinh seeing as things at the end of forever were still definitely unresolved. Its quite upsetting regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed the book as many others will.

I like getting series to see where the stories take you. I'm concerned since the last blog post was in Nov 2012 and last stated project was due out Spring 2012 and nothing is out yet or even an update.

This progressed better than the last book. It got away from the Twilight similarities and became it own book. The ending had a good cliffhanger to keep you wanting the final installment. Hopefully it will come out.

I have gotten in sooo much trouble because i have skipped chores for this book and the first. It is so wierd because it didn't look like something i could get into. Seriously though I thought it would be something like Twilight but it has a lot more depth. I don't have anything against Twilight but I wanted something different, and this book worked a lot. I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Samuel, Duncan and Alina had fought tooth and nail to get this far. Salina has given up her family and friends and for what? The story continue the fight to survive, only the truth of who the mastermind comes out.

I love the characters, the story and the fight. I can't wait for the next installment.

I much preferred this story to the first book. The writing flowed better, the characters were more likeable, and there was much more happening. I look forward to reading the next one, unfortunately there may be some wait as the author is having a break from this series and has moved on to a new series for the moment. Not a good thing to do to her fan base but ho hum, a writers got to do what a writers got to do, if it's not coming to you and something else is then you have to just go with it.
