These little portable lights can certainly serve a purpose...temporarily. They light up my dark closet adequately, so that I don't mistake my blue slacks for the black ones. however, the batteries don't last very long, and if you mount them with the enclosed screws, they have to be totally removed to replace them.
if you put them up temporarily with the sticky back, they tend to come loose when you flip the switch.
i wouldn't use them as a permanent solution, but for a short term they work well.
