Important information
Safety Information
Consult your pharmacist or doctor if the cold sore becomes severe and/or an outbreak lasts unusually long. Do not use in combination with cream, as the patch may no longer stick to the lesion to provide full treatment benefits. Take care not to touch the adhesive side of the patch. Do not reuse the patch, to avoid infection of the wound and spreading of the virus. Do not use inside the mouth, on mucous tissue, or to treat genital herpes. Take extra hygienic care. Cold sores are infectious. The patch covers the lesion and therefore reduces the risk of contamination from the wound. However, it is important to take the following precautions during an outbreak: Do not touch the sore, as you may spread the virus to other parts of the body or to other people. If you have touched the sore, wash your hands immediately. During the outbreak, do not touch or rub your eyes with your hands. Do not share eating or drinking utensils, lipstick, toothbrushes, or even towels with others.
Indications
POLYSPORIN® Cold Sore Healing Patch enables fast, effective healing of cold sores while masking them at the same time.

Directions
How to use the patch: For best results, use a patch as soon as you first feel a sign of an outbreak, such as tingling, itching, or burning sensations. Use a patch continuously throughout the day and night. Continue use until the lesion is fully healed. Consult your pharmacist or doctor if the cold sore becomes severe and/or an outbreak lasts unusually long. One patch lasts up to eight hours. How to apply the patch: Wash your hands. Ensure your skin is clean and dry. Do not use in combination with cream, as the patch may no longer stick to the lesion to provide full treatment benefits. Remove the applicator from the wrapper and hold its ends using both hands. Gently pull each end, following the arrows on the applicator, until the sticky adhesive side is half exposed. Take care not to touch the adhesive side of the patch. Gently press the half exposed part of the patch with a finger to firmly place the patch over the cold sore. Slowly pull the end of the applicator down and away from the skin, in a smooth rolling motion until the patch slips from the applicator. Makeup or lipstick can be applied over the patch. When to remove the patch: If the patch stays on, there is no need to remove or replace it. When it starts to detach from the skin, a new patch should replace it. If you need to remove the patch, stretch it along the skin (as opposed to pulling it away). Do not reuse the patch, to avoid infection of the wound and spreading of the virus. Store at room temperature. Do not refrigerate.

Definitely helps to make it heal faster
Would recommend in addition to putting on some abreva underneath. Only lasted a week for me to completely heal :)
Expensive, look for coupons online.
Yes, the cold sore will get bigger. You’ll notice it will be filled with liquid. I get rid of the liquid by pulling the patch a bit and dab it with a tissue & then close it up.
If the patch is peeling off, I’ll change it.
I used to wear it until the sore is completely gone last time I had one. But currently (I have one now) I have done 2 nights without a patch & put some cream. I’ve noticed it’s healing faster compared to my last cold sores.
The healing process can be long for some but I prefer wearing the patch (looks invisible) as I feel less self conscious about it.
I would recommend it. Though not so for the price.
