I have been using this for A7iii for years. It has been working fine. Autofocus works on A7iii although it is not good for tracking. However, single point focus is quite fast and it supports eye autofocus.
Before I upgraded to A7IV, I have searched over and over again and could not find any confirmation whether it works on A7IV. Most said it does not work while one or two posts said it works
To my surprise, IT WORKS! It definitely autofocus slower than it was on A7III, but at least I can still use it.
It is still usable for landscape and family shooting.
As of firmware V06, the adapter supports only the following bodies (and only in phase detection mode):
Sony A6300
Sony A6500
Sony A7RII
Sony A7II
Sony A9
I have uploaded the compatibility chart. I will more than likely make a product review video and post up on youtube, to see the AF action. The AF is snappy with the 5 lenses I tested that are on the chart with the 'F' designation, meaning Fast AF.
========== COMPATIBILITY TESTING ==========
The lenses I tested are as follows:
Nikon 50mm AF-S f/1.8G
Tamron SP 35mm f/1.8 Di VC USD
Tamron SP 85mm f/1.8 Di VC USD
Tamron SP 15-30mm f/2.8 Di VC USD
Tamron 10-24mm F/3.5-4.5 Di II VC HLD
My G1 Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 Di VC USD performed exactly as the chart indicated...slow. My G1 Tamron 24-70mm Di VC USD, even though not listed on the chart (only G2 is listed) worked just like the aforementioned 70-200mm...slow. Looks like with the SP and G2 lenses, Tamron MAY have made some engineering changes in regards to the interfacing between their lenses and the Nikon bodies...which provides a greater hit rate for AF compatibility like Nikon's own lenses.
============================================
Phase detection is disabled @ certain aperture values between these cameras, so consult your camera's documentation for more info (or google). Also, when shooting movies, phase detection AF doesn't operate on some older models, which MIGHT explain the issues when using this adapter with AF movie recording. If you are looking to use this adapter for AF video work, look elsewhere. Manual focus is just fine, of course.
All in all, I really like this adapter. When heading to a game, I can carry my Sony A6500 and Nikon D500 with me, instead of my D810 which is heavier. The AF works excellent for what I do, so I can gradually build my lens system for the Sony, while continuing to shoot with the Nikon glass. I'd really recommend doing your homework and ensure your expectations are realistic. It's imperative that you understand that this adapter has specifically tested compatibility.

Here are the lenses I tried it with.
Nikon 85 1.8G. Accurate AF. Slow autofocus and a good bit of hunting. Exception was Eye-AF tracking actually worked really well. I ended up selling the lens because the performance wasn't good enough and got the 85 1.8FE.
Nikon 50 1.4G. AF was accurate and responsive. Eye AF worked well. It wasn't up to native speeds but was good enough. Probably similar to AF speed on my 2013 era D610 which is a slow camera by Nikon AF standards but usable.
Nikon 28 1.8G: Works well. Occasional hunting but overall it is fast and very accurate. I'm very happy with it.
Nikon 24-120/4: Accurate. Hunting not too much of a problem. Slower than native but generally usable for landscape purposes. I was surprised how well it worked.
Nikon 18-35G: Accurate AF that wasn't fast but is acceptable for landscape uses and does not hunt much. Totally usable for the types of uses an 18-35G is usable for.
Nikon 70-200/4. Slow AF compared to on Nikon body but accurate and does not hunt. Fine for landscape photography. Okay for action with firmware 2 but not if the subject is coming torwards you quickly.
Sigma 105 Macro OS: Slow AF and bad problems with hunting particularly at close distances. Much better as an MF lens. Really not very usable as an AF lens.
Sigma 100-400: With firmware 2 on the A7iii this lens no longer locks up the whole camera like it did with firmware 1 but the autofocus is so slow as to be unusable even on still subjects. 100% unusable on anything moving even at a snails pace.
