So far, so good.
Disclaimer! I have had this stove installed for 24 hours, so bear in mind that I don't have any long-term experience with this unit yet.* SEE UPDATED REVIEW/EDIT BELOW! *1) Experience with the seller: Very good. I was concerned about delivery time, since we're in the middle of winter in Colorado and the stove was being shipped across country. The seller responded IMMEDIATELY to my queries and assured me the stove would ship the moment payment cleared and would take about a week. They were exactly right.2) Installation: I had professional installation done since the previous owners had never properly vented the previous stove up the chimney using the correct pipe. They merely vented straight into an open chimney. However, if you are simply hooking up to a previous 3" pipe and nothing else is needed, you can EASILY do it yourself. It's - maybe - a 30 minute deal, just making sure everything is hooked up correctly. The stove is heavy, though, at 300 lbs and takes a minimum of 2 people to move it.3) Performance: I'm in heaven. Now, to clarify, we replaced a 25 year old unit that had no automated ANYTHING. You had to pour in some pellets, put on the gel, wait, light it, wait some more, close the door, start the feeder, and HOPE it lit. Plus there was no remote or thermostat, only 4 different pellet feed settings. So I feel like I moved from a 1972 VW bug to a 2016 Mercedes. The unit looks quite nice; a bit industrial, but not in a bad way. The auto ignite is amazing to me, who never had it before. The heating capacity is terrific. But not all is perfect:- as many have said here before, the instruction manual ain't much good. Yes, it HAS instructions, and with some amount of luck you can sort of figure some things out, but let's face it; it's made in China and translated from Chinese.- One initial issue that I think we're figuring out: Twice in the last 24 hours the unit has shut down with a warning to either check the pellet hopper or the burn pot. The hopper was full, so near as I could figure, the burn pot was clogged on the bottom. This might be due to inferior pellets, although I didn't scrimp on those (we're currently using all wood pellets by Heatr's) OR, as I'm gathering from reading other concerns here, it might be due to having the exhaust blower settings too low. We're experimenting right now.But when it runs, it's amazing. Plenty of heat and very, VERY quiet. So far.............. so good. The only reason for 4 stars intstead of 5 is due to the horrible manual and the two unexpected shutdowns so far.*** UPDATED REVIEW: 1 MONTH LATER ***Okay, so now I have some real-life experience and let me start out by saying I'll hold on to the 4-star review. There are a couple of negatives, but the positives greatly outweigh the negatives. The stove has been very reliable, EXTREMELY quiet, and does a great job keeping our place warm. I have NEVER turned the thermostat above 70 so far, and typically keep it around 65 or so.I have 4 negative comments, and 3 concern the hopper:- The small filler opening on the hopper is ridiculous. Very hard to pour a bag of pellets into the tiny 6" x 12" opening- The stated capacity is 55 lbs. In your dreams. A 40 lb bag nearly fills it up. It MIGHT hold 50 lbs, but that would be the max.- The inside slope of the hopper doesn't work very well for funneling all the pellets down when you get low. A couple of times I came down in the morning to find the stove had shut off, saying to check the hopper. The actual hole leading to the auger area was, indeed, empty, but there were probably 10 lbs of pellets "stuck" to the metal sides. By reaching in and pushing with my hand, I was able to shove a BUNCH of pellets down, but I shouldn't have to do that. So now I have to make sure the hopper is completely full every night before going to bed, or else it'll run out before morning. My 4th complaint is that twice the burn pot has overfilled during the ignition process and a ton of smoke filled the room as the pellets smoldered, attempting to ignite. If you have more than about 1/3 of the burn pot filled with pellets, the pellets will struggle to ignite, due to decreased airflow, and instead will absolutely FILL the stove, and then the room, with plumes of smoke. This has only happened twice in the month I've used it, but twice is 2 times too many.OVERALL, I am happy and would recommend this unit. I would also purchase another one.

Hot damn n' biscuits n' gravy! I was just walking away from my computer where I was asking the seller (Comfortbilt) via email if they could spot me a couple door magnets broken in shipping - the phone rang. It was Comfortbilt looking to get me new magnets!

The stove arrived in perfect shape except the two door magnets on the left side had cracked apart. I saw no other damage opposite the magnets so otherwise it came in perfect shape. Packaging something that size and weight such that nothing breaks is, I'm sure, not trivial. So two magnets cracking is about the smallest problem I've seen in most freight coming from Amazon sellers. My experience with wood stoves is only with an Englander catalyst stove. That stove is well made, >95% efficient when well maintained, but a bit tough to clean. Their customer service has also been quite good for me. I think I might not have used brass/steel combuster fasteners. Could have made
that easier to clean and service without adding too much complexity.

This is a _really_ sweet stove. Has been easy to use, easy to keep clean, very quiet and can really deliver heat after a surprisingly rapid warm up starting from cold. If there is anything I could change it might be the foot print shape, but I knew the shape/size when I ordered so wasn't disappointed at all. I believe the stove is "made in china", _however_, and this is very important, it was almost certainly designed in the US. I would prefer to have every last part made in the US, but that is frequently impractical. Our values have changed. I don't see people working for quality, I see people wanting fast cash willing to produce mediocrity. The American consumer wants as much as they can get for the least amount of cost, which is pretty normal human behavior. The bad part of this is that the money isn't all staying local. The good part that we too often take for granted is that Chinese production is only ever as good as the engineering design. The Chinese built a very well-designed stove, because they *can*. That means all of the pollution from producing just about everything on the planet, hangs over the heads of people feeding their families just like we do. Moving so much production to China isn't China's fault, it's been facilitated by our wonderfully brilliant and pure-of-heart Congress. I'd like to say it's our fault for voting them in, but we don't have much of a talent pool to choose from. The system needs a re-design.

Ok, enough of that, I really like this stove and I think it will stay with us the rest of our lives.

Seems quite accurate as far as temp goes. Well packaged. Easy set up.About as loud as a box fan. Great looks, really like the wrap around glass for viewing. Remote only works from 6' away, hoping that is an easy fix.
Update; have used for several weeks now, tonight status was stop, no explanation so I turned it off and restarted it. After 5 minutes of nothing we noticed smoke pouring out, the whole filled up. I opened the door and windows and got a fan going. Then all of a sudden it exploded into flame. I can only imagine the burn pot was too full and it produced lots of smoke until it finally burst into flame. Pretty scary.

I had a wood stove for 30 years and we switched to this pellet stove. I wish I would have switched 20 years ago. What an amazing stove. The entire 3,200 square foot house is kept warm and I literally fill it once a day. Very quite and on eco it will shut itself off and on when the temp range is attained. Some of the older reviews said the instruction were small and not well written, but apparently they fixed that, because my instructions were well written, easy to follow and had QR codes to videos which made the install a snap. If you are buying this stove, which I highly recommend, don't cheap out and for sure buy the hopper extension. Best $180 you'll ever spend, beside the stove.

I am very satisfied with this pellet stove so far. I only used it once, so time will tell. The style is attractive, the setup was simple. It throughs off a lot of heat and the fan is fairly quiet. You can hear the fan running but it is no louder that a regular box fan on low. I like the view of the glass and the control board offers a lot of features. I've owned several pellet stoves in the past and this one in one the best I've owned. Worth the price.

I bought this Comfortbilt HP22 to replace a 10yr old 40k btu pellet stove in our home. The quality of this unit was very good and after install fired right up with no problems. The heat output of the HP22 was far greater than the old stove. We are very happy with this purchase.
