    Nancy Shaw was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and now lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan with her husband and two children. She is a freelance writer and a homemaker. She received her B. A. with high distinction and highest honors in English from the University of Michigan, where she was named to Phi Beta Kappa and won the prestigious Hopwood Award. She received her M.A.T. from Harvard University. Ms. Shaw came up with the idea for the Sheep books during a very long car trip with her husband and two children.

I love this sheep series. I used to read these books to my own children when they were small. I recently purchased them for myself for future grandchildren and young neices and nephews. This little "Sheep" series is absolutely outstanding! Kids from 2 to 6 seem to love them. Even older kids who have trouble learning to read enjoy them. One has to pre-teach some of the words when the youngsters are not familiar with them (as in the Sheep in a Ship book), but they really do well and the sheep are hilarious which the children DO appreciate.
