Made from a reinforced polymer shell and a Type III hard anodized, machine finished A380 cast aluminum V-bedding block, the Magpul Hunter 700 Stock offers users a cost-effective replacement featuring enhanced ergonomics. It accepts ALL factory Remington barrels and is compatible with aftermarket barrel profiles up to a Medium Palma (0.920” diameter 5.50” forward of the breech).

Easy Installation

Compatible with Remington 700 Short Actions, this stock requires no bedding and is a true “drop-in” solution for the end user (NOTE: Fits right-hand receivers only). The Hunter 700 is also M-LOK compatible with M-LOK slots on the forend sides and bottom to accept a broad range of accessory and sling mounting options.

Customizable

The Hunter 700 Stock is compatible with standard Remington 700 pattern short action rifles with stock Remington hinged floorplates, and can be easily upgraded to removable AICS-spec short action magazines (5.56x45 or 7.62x51 pattern) without the need for custom inletting. It also accepts most factory and aftermarket triggers.

All blind floorplate ADL models will require current factory Remington hinged bottom metal. Not compatible with Remington 700 DM models with their proprietary detachable box mags. Since factory action mounting screws can come in a variety of lengths, grinding to length or utilizing longer replacements may be necessary to optimize fit with the Hunter 700.

Install took hardly any time. Used a inch lb fat wrench to get the stock screw torque settings right. Make sure to read the directions when installing. This stock will work on hinged floorplate models only unless you purchase new bottom metal. I went on and bought detachable magazine bottom metal that accepts aics magazines without a modifications needed. Stock is fully adjustable as far as cheeck weld and lenght of pull. Aluminum bedding block molded into the stock will improve accuracy. True free floated barrel. Before purchasing, ensure that you are buying the right stock for your caliber or action size. For example, my rifle is a 308, which is a short action.

Fit perfectly onto the Remington 700 ADL SA in .223. I also ordered the Magpul SA bottom metal kit since my 700 was the one without the bottom metal feature which also slid right in without issue. Lastly I ordered the “MDT Magazine AICS Short Action 223 Remington, 5.56x45mm” from another supplier and it too worked worked without any issues. The Magpul Hunter stock felt as if I’d received it from Remington as OEM. Follow the torque in inch pounds when setting the stock and it will be as, or more, accurate than the original stock. I was prepared to need to spend time bedding the stock but it wasn’t necessary at all. 5 to 10 minutes to install the stock and the additional Magpul bottom metal kit so it would take a 5, 10, and 20 round AICS MTD magazines.

For looks I ordered the Magpul FDE bipod. It ended up working out good for my upgrade. But my Harris bipod with the Mlok attachment also worked onto the stock without any stress.

If your looking for a simple, yet nice looking, stock upgrade from the junk Remington black synthetic stock this is the one. The molding is right on. The barrel floats evenly as it should. And from my range test at 200 yds I improved about a quarter to half MOA. I account the improvement to the adjustments I can now make to how I address the rifle along with a small part to the now floating barrel.

Don’t listen to others tell you this won’t work on the .223 700. All you have to do is buy the MTD AICS mags in .223/.300 and your GTG. 600 Rds in 3 trips with ZERO issues. Looks good. Feels good. Shoots to the level of the shooter. What more could you ask for?

I absolutely love my magpul 700 hunter stock! I was stuck between a Ruger Precision Rifle (RPR) or getting a Remington 700 and upgrading to this stock. I decided to go this route. I got a .308 bull barrel 26" Remington 700 ADL Varmint. I took a pic of that then swapped the stock with this.
All together I paid 600 for the ADL and this stock. If you have an ADL you have no option but to purchase bottom metal for this stock. The easiest way is to get the magpul bottom metal.
I did not waste rounds testing the ADL stock but this even free floats the bull barrels. My rifle shoots very tight! I had to sight several new optics on other guns so I didn't get to really tighten my groups like I wanted but I was shooting around one MOA right after sighting it in.
I'm tall so for me typical budget rifle stocks always feel short and uncomfortable. I added all the additional spacers and the cheek riser fits me perfect. There's no need for the ability to keep adjusting the stock length or cheek height once you get a good fit. This fits me perfectly! I dont have the 5r rifling of the RPR but I was able to save $400-500 and this is plenty accurate for my needs.
I will be using this for a bench rifle fpr practice and hunting. My hunting spot doesn't require much walking but this stock along with the bull barrel makes for a fairly heavy setup. I love it though and I tests this setup stabilizes between 150-180 grain ammo very well!

Awesome stock option for the Rem 700. Magpul has really done something impressive in designing this stock. I heavily recommend this to anyone wanting a little more out of their Rem 700, a detachable box magazine, or a full tang aluminum bed block. For the cost and what you get out of it, it's a hard deal to beat. Go watch some youtube reviews of this stock so you can see it in action. If you've ever felt the SGA stock option for the Rem 870 or Mossberg 500/590 it's the same grip style.

I put my Rem 700 AAC SD 20" in this stock and I couldn't be happier. It didn't impede the accuracy because I'm still shooting 1/4" moa at 100 yds with handloads and factory match ammunition. Recoil is basically non-existent. The m-lok forend is amazing for mounting the Magpul aluminum bipod mounting adapter and their m-lok paraclip on the side.

What I would like to see is Magpul make some adapter for this stock to place a forward picatiny rail for mounting forward night vision able optics in front of the scope. Now that would be taking this already amazing product up a notch.
