If you like spicy curry this is the product for you. This makes a deliciously somewhat orange curry (the color may not be what you expect but one taste and you'll forget about the color). When making curry this has a wonderful aroma. This has less filler and more of the good stuff than regular store curry powder and has more chilies which explains the heat.
The 14.99oz is a LARGE tin, and is a better value than the smaller size. If it's too spicy you can always mix some regular curry powder and use less Bolst's. There is also a non-Hot Bolst's which is presumably less spicy.
CURRY TIP: I've always found that a cooked curry improves flavor after being in the fridge overnight. I use this as an excuse to make more than I need so I have leftovers for the next day.

Tasty and well packaged. i like the metal can with the resealable lid. The taste, however is a bit bland for my tastes. It has an almost dusty taste. I have noticed that many India curry powders have this taste, so maybe it is by design. However, I prefer a cleaner, crisper taste, if that makes any sense. I will use this up, but will likely try another brand when this is gone. I wish I could find a good Caribbean curry powder. Those seem better suited for my taste. The metal can with the resealable lid is a nice touch, though.

When I lived in India and had to move to Europe I wanted to make sure I could make an authentic curry as spices in 1955 were very hard to come by in Europe. My father who had served in India suggested I go to the nearby Indian Military Garrison and ask the Quarter Master what they took on maneuvers and he allowed me to take a case of Bolts with me. I was only ofter i opened it, I found
it contained 24 giant cans. This lasted me for eight years. This Bolts curry is not as hot as the ones I was given but I can heat it up with a little chili. I would not be without it.

I have been using Bolst's Curry Powder since 1970's. Probably the best there is. I have been unable to find it sold in Canada, before finding it on Amazon. ca. When I ordered it the can was for about $12ca. At the time I thought it was a little high priced? The last can I bought was in England for about 5 pounds English. I suppose I should have read the description better? Imagine my surprise when it arrived? Colour me tickled pink, for the can is 14.99oz not the 3.5oz of my old one. So after filling my old smaller can and re-sealing the large one back up. It feels like I'm now ahead of the "game"? I've tried other powders out there. None compare to Bolst's for curry flavour, Someone's only other option, is to make their own? Bolst's is the best on the market, for me.
